Should the NW have

Should the NW have

a 'ask the NW' type of board for brides to ask questions about vendors.

Re: Should the NW have

I think they can go to the Bride's Review and look at what we wrote. They can search by vendor name.

Jenn: Most people don't do that. So how do we address this issue?

Re: Should the NW have

I guess just answer them when they ask?

maybe it is a good idea?

Honestly,I think the Bride's review board is a great addition and should answer everyone's questions. We just have to get LIW to reiterate this every now and then.

There is so much to offer on this board now, more so than when we were planning so to keep asking us the same questions over and over is just pure laziness.

I just want the countdown back! I miss seeing how many days I have been married

If you want a countdown clock on your desktop I will send you the one I have.

I think that is an awesome Idea Nats, it could be another board under NW, ask the NW, send that to Ron and see what he says. That is a fantastic idea. It would not clog the NW board with bridal question.

I would love for you to send me that Shamma!

Thank you!

I think the brides review is silly in my opinion. For one you have no clue about your photographer because you haven't seen your proofs, worked with them on a album or seen the finished product.
And for video people it is the same, except for the guy or gal being unobtrusive you really can't have too much of an opinion of their work until you see it.

It does have its points. If you want to hear about florists or halls... but at the same time I think it should all wait until you can do a complete review on everything.

It just seems like they shouldn't be an immediate thing to put there that it should take some time to give a real review.

I think an 'ask the NW' board is a good idea as long as:

a) all newlyweds participate - since no one wants to hear me go on about my vendors forever :D

and

b) the questions that are asked are not the obvious thing like 'what photographer should i use?' It should be specific questions that wouldnt be answered by doing a simple search. If that rule isnt followed, then the NW wont read it and the Brides wont use it.

I think the Brides Review is a good idea since it keeps it all in one place.

What i fund funny is how do you determine a good vendor? An A+++++ or an A+++++

I completely agree with you. I hate hate hate when people tout their vendors before they've used them...just because they've booked them. I think you have to go through the WHOLE process (including album design, and watch your whole video) before you recommend someone or try and talk someone into using them! I learned the hard way..telling everyone how great my wedding band was. Sure, they sounded good, but I'd like to stick my foot up the managers a$$ now!

I like the idea of a NW advice board very much, and I'd gladly participate!

Your Photographer and Videographer are not the only two vendors you use that day.

All of your other vendors that day can be given a FULL review on the Bride's review board.

I do agree that an ask NW thread would be great, but I think the Bride's review has its place as well.

nrvbrd - took the words right out of my mouth

Brides Review is a great place to do searches on a vendor, see what people thought and feel how they felt right after their wedding about their vendors.

Also about the videographer and photographer issues, the reviews can always be edited to include the updated information once proofs/albums/video editing is done.

But I do agree the ask the NW boards would be helpful for very detailed questions. Like Stef said, I don't want to answer 'What photographer did you use' 100 times.
For that they could search on Bride's Review.

We all review after our weddings, and they get lost in BHB. SO they don't do any good. But now they are located all together and IMO are a better resource that way.

Stef

I did my review on a scale of 1-10, it's understandable that way right?

Re: Should the NW have

While I would happy to share any specific info about my vendors with any planning bride I honestly cannot see visiting another forum here. I am having trouble getting to just my favorites as it is

There is the bridal review board which I think given time will develope into something useful and the search feature and no matter how many specific places there are for information there will always be a bride that will come to the NW board and post 'So, what limo company did you use?'

Bump for other NW responses.

I agree with ChristineC68. Adding another board for brides to ask Newlyweds is really unnecessary.
