Shower Etiquette Question
Hi girls! What type of shower gift do you get for someone you really don't know nor care for and will probably never see again after the wedding? This woman is my husband's friend's bride. I'm actually surprised I was invited because she wasn't invited to my shower. The reason I ask is that I had a few no shows at my shower and I didn't receive gifts from the people who I wasn't really friendly with. (Their husbands were friends with my husband.) Is this the norm?

Re: Shower Etiquette Question
If its someone you really don't care for, then I wouldn't go. You can just tell whoever is throwing the shower that you can't make it.

Re: Shower Etiquette Question
I wouldn't go either, if I didn't invite that person to my shower and I wasn't friendly per say with them. Maybe just send something from the rregistry, like a 40$ gift.

I wouldn't go...I would just send a small gift. I think that is generous!

Re: Shower Etiquette Question
If it is your husband's close friend I would go...if not, then just send a small gift from her registry. Don't try to pick something out if you don't know her tastes.

Re: Shower Etiquette Question
I agree if my husband and the groom were close I would go and get her something nice. My husband was actually hurt by the fact that they did not come to our ceremony (at the time they lived just a few blocks away) and he's not one to be easily insulted. I've made up my mind not to go. I just have to figure out what to get. I like the gift certificate idea.

Re: Shower Etiquette Question
Don't go if you don't want to...but if you do go, a small gift should be fine.

Re: Shower Etiquette Question
I would send a gift and base the amount on how close my husband was with hers.

Re: Shower Etiquette Question
I wouldn't go to the shower, but I would send a gift. Usually when I barely know the person I just get a gift certificate where they are registered.

Re: Shower Etiquette Question
I'd try a discount store like Marshall's. I got my cuz Waterford Crystal Wine Stops for $20. Or just watch for good sales at Macy's, maybe try the outlets. I'd go more for price then what was on the registry.

Re: Shower Etiquette Question
I wouldn't go, but I would definitely send a gift. It's rude not to send a gift. I had a few people who were not able to make it, but they all sent gifts.Welcome New Vendors
