Shower question: How far in advance of your wedding was your shower?

Is one month - 6 weeks before too close?

My shower was September 20th.
My wedding was November 8th.

So..7 weeks apart.

My shower was May 31
Wedding was Sept 20

A friend had her shower July 19
Her Wedding was Sept 6

I dont believe that there is a formula, as long as it isn't inconvenient to the bride

Mine was one month and 6 days before my wedding. It was too close IMO. They picked a day that was not convient to me or 99% of my friends just to accomodate my MIL.

Mine was March 6th and my wedding was April 17th--- 6 weeks.

ETA- I didn't think 6 weeks before was bad at all. It kind of 'kicked off' the rest of the wedding planning stuff!

Mine was about 1 month before. I wouldn't suggest anything closer. I would have preferred 6-7 weeks before.

Mine was May 18th - my wedding June 13 - just under a month before. i thought it was fine.

mine was 5 weeks before
feb 28th for my april 3rd wedding.....the only problem with having it so close was that i was getting really suspicious!!!
