So I have these really bad migranes now.... these things can last for 24 hours STRAIGHT, no matter how much advil I take its still there.
They are debilitating, i cant even walk because when I take a step I feel pounding in my head. I cant do anything but lay in a dark room and hope it gets better.
Its effecting my life.... today I had to call sick for student teaching, this is the second time!!
I am on ortho-tricyclen lo....Is this a side effect of birth control? Does it have nothing to do with it? Im so confused, I hate this birth control... I feel sickly on it... but then again I tend to blame everything I feel now on the birth control.

If that's when you started having these problems, then you should definitely talk to your doctor about what's been happening and he/she might give you another brand to try.

Re: Side effects of birth control
I was on Ortho Tri Lo and never had any side effects (only enormous food consumption). I changed to the generic version b/c it was cheaper.
I would talk to you OB ASAP to get you on something else.

Re: Side effects of birth control
I am not sure if your birth control is causing the headaches or not. I know I can't take any bc. It makes me way too hormonal. I get all cranky all the time, and makes me depressed. They are pretty powerful things.

Re: Side effects of birth control
I have heard that Birth Control can give migraines it has to do with hormone shifts. The best way to combat it to go on a birth control pill that has a low steady dose of hormones all month. Not one where her hormone levels go up an down. Check with your doctor. I take Femcon. I think that is how it is spelled. It is a low does pill and my headaches lessened when I went on it.

Re: Side effects of birth control
I've been on every single BC out on the market (its supposed to help with endo symptoms) well I hate them all. I used to get migraines, insane cramping and a ton of weight gain. My body loathes BC.
Definitely tell your doctor.
