one of our non gift givers just sent DH and I a card a check, for $40!

OMG she deserves to be smacked. What a beotch. Unless you're my grandma or have no concept of time (it's 2006!) that's really not much to work with.

I have to add that DH's grammy gave us $20 and we almost cried. That was soooo generous of her. But she did so when we came back from the HM, not 3 months after the weddding.
