Slash is mad at me

I had to take slash to the vet yesterday because his top lip was VERY swollen and we weren't sure if there was an infection, a bug bite (he loves to chase bugs in this weather) or something else.

Well, the scene turned into a straight up fiasco! He was a little tense at first but things got wild when the vet tried to give him two shots in the butt. The tech couldn't handle him and he ended up peeing out of nerves.....I started to cry.....it was a sh1tshow! Lets just say the vet tech ended up with urine on his face....

Anyways, slash is totally giving me the cold shoulder now and its making me sad.....

Awwww Slashy!!!!! Poor kitty! But you were just being a good mommy!

ETA: I'm nervous taking Potter in next week to get neutered. Drop him off Friday for his surgery and pick him up Saturday.

Sneak him some tuna fish or some cold cuts. I promise he'll forget all about the vet!

When I was growing up, we had a dog named Lucky. She was a mutt that my mom's co-worker rescued after the puppy's owner decided he didn't want the litter of puppies his dog had and proceeded to throw them off his roof. Yeah- my mom only told me that recently. Anyway, when my mom took Lucky in to be fixed, she was MAD at her. Really mad. She wouldn't drink, wouldn't eat, nothing for days! My mom was so worried that she called the vet and told him. He LAUGHED. He told her to put some cold cuts underneath the food in her dish and see if she'd go through the dog food to get to the cold cuts. Naturally, she did.

when we moved, and had to relocate our cats to our new apartment, my cats didn't come near me or DH for a week.

eventually they settled down, but it's the same way when we take them to the vet.

he'll be back to normal with you in no time

Thanks C, that's real sweet and makes me feel good!

I haven't gotten my bangs trimmed in a loooooooong while (they were cut WAY too short in March and I've been letting them grow ever since) so I've been pulling them back with headbands and I've been digging the look!

Literally. Lucky was the only one who didn't get thrown. My dad still does not know this story to this day since he didn't want a dog- he is under the impression that my mom found a dog on her way home from work and took it with her. At least that way it wasn't premeditated. I bet she could tell him now though- he's the biggest dog lover there is.
