Do any of you have any recipes that don't require you to brown the meat or pre-cook anything? Im looking for recipes where I can get everything together the night before and all DH has to do in the morning is literally drop it in the slow cooker and turn it on. Im looking for like super easy here.
Thanks!

Re: slow cooker/crockpot
If you want really easy you can do some chicken cutlets and cover them in bbq sauce and just cook it on low for 8-10 hours. You won't even need to prepare anything

The BBQ Rib recipe I posted you just throw everything in and let it cook for 8 hours....
Ribs Recipe! (Crock Pot)
Canola oil or vegetable oil 2 small red onions, finely chopped 3-4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced 1 lemon, juiced 1 cup brown sugar, packed ½ cup cider vinegar 1 cup ketchup 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce, or to taste ½ teaspoon chili powder 2 racks of baby back ribs, cut into 3-4 rib pieces Directions
1. In a skillet placed on stovetop set to medium heat, heat oil. Add garlic and onions and sauté until softened and lightly browned. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Remove half the sauce to use for serving. 2. Transfer stoneware to slow cooker heating base. Add ribs and sauce, cover, and cook on Low for 7-9 hours or on High for 3-5 hours. 3. To serve, cut ribs between bones and pass extra sauce.

thanks ladies!
Do you think I could literally season chicken and peel carrots and potatoes and throw them in and just cook it? Like is it that easy?

Re: slow cooker/crockpot
the only thing that I brown ahead is the ground beef for chilli- otherwise I just throw it all in
my favorite is coca cola pot roast- take a london broil, rub it with onion soup mix, and pour a can of coke over it- sooo good!

Re: slow cooker/crockpot
DH dies over this pot roast -TO DIE FOR...got the recipe from here actually
You'll Need:
3 to 5 1/2 pound pot roast (mine was just under 4) 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup (i used one reg. and one cream of mushroom w/roasted garlic) 1 envelope lipton dry onion soup mix 1 1/4 cups water 1/2 to full bag baby carrots(depending on how much u want) can of sweet peas(drained)
DIRECTIONS Place roast in crockpot...In bowl mix cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix and water. pour over roast. toss in carrots
Cook on Low setting for 7.5hours (longer if u go over 4lbs). last hour add drained sweet peas. __________________________________
this was SO delish! it sounds like it would be creamy, but the liquid actually turns into a thick brown gravy.. i made it with mashed potatos on the side. dh was in love. it came out so tender that when i went to take it out of the c/p it completely fell apart

9 would probably be too long unless u get a HUGE brisket..honestly i usually cook mine for about 7..i dont know why i wrote 6 lol...but anyways - most slowcookers automatically turn to 'warm' setting once it's done - so check if ur c/p has that..

Re: slow cooker/crockpot
I throw everything in the crockpot without cooking ahead (except sometimes sausage, unless it's turkey sausage). I like to get a pot roast, dump 1/3 bottle of italian dressing (or any vinaigrette) and cook on low for 4 hours.

Re: slow cooker/crockpot
I made chicken and dumplings the other night in our crock pot. I threw in 2 frozen boneless chicken breasts, a can of chicken broth, a can of cream of chicken soup, and chicken bullion cube water (make sure everything is covered with liquid) on high for five hours. About 30 minutes before serving, toss in refrigerator biscuits (cut into quarters) and stir. Make a vegetable and dinner is done.

Re: slow cooker/crockpot
Get a pot roast, put it in the pot, dump half a bottle of italian dressing into the pot and cook.
I don't pre-cook anything prior to the crockpot.
I also love making stew. I get beef cubes, then cut up carrots, potatoes, onions, frozen peas, 1/4 cup ketchup, 16 oz of beef broth, salt & pepper, and let it cook.

Re: slow cooker/crockpot
My mom just gave me my grandmothers crock pot. In the original box and all from the 50's. I hope it still works lol
I am going to definitely try some of these recipes now. I will have to do it on a day when we are home though, b/c it being so old I don't know how the wiring is.
