So ...

So ...

Last night after our Mets game, we went to DH friend and his wife's home for a BBQ, where the wife announced she was pregnant.

This is the first time that a peer of mine and someone I was relatively close to has gotten pregnant so I pretty much fell out of my chair. I'm very excited for them, they are a lovely couple and we spend a lot of time with them.

I didn't tell DH but I'm terribly, TERRIBLY jealous. DH and I have a 'plan' so to speak, consisting of moving out of the area early next year, settling into a lovely home, making it the way we want it, and then trying to have kids. This plan makes sense and is obviously the best plan for us but I'm so anxious to get started and be a mom. My whole life, it has honestly been my dream to be a mom and now that I'm married and have a stable life, it's all I can think about. I know DH is right about waiting but sometimes I just hope he'll 'forget' that we want to wait and give in.

I feel bad feeling jealous! I'm very happy for them but I couldn't help thinking, 'That should be us!'

Anyway, I just wanted to share/vent.

Awww... I don't have any advice because I'm the complete opposite - I just found out that one of my best friends is pregnant and although I'm super SUPER excited for her, it also gave me a mini panic attack thinking that that could be me in a few months. (I def want kids but would like to skip the whole pregnancy thing. )

But lots of for you!

Aww, I'm the same way! Especially at my school - there are like five pregnant people in my building! But you have to think that it's for the best - you're doing it the right way.

I was kind of jealous when I heard yesterday that my friend who just got married on fri wants to start trying right away.... I kinda wanted to be the first one, but its just not in the works right now for us... We want to do things right... save up a bit... we already have the room now for 1... They dont have the room... dont seem to have there ducks in line and seems to just be jumping into this for a reason unknown to all of us... I just dunno... So I totally know how you feel Just know that we're making the best decisions for our own lives and our time too will come

I feel the exact same way. Everyone around me seems to be pregnant. I have crazy baby fever. Stick to the 'plan'. Everything will work out. =_

I totally agree with making decisions that are best for YOU guys. We are the same way. We don't want to start for a while until we have a bigger place and are more financially secure (damn student loans!) But, maybe this couple feels like their ducks are in a row...maybe this is there plan. We have friends who are living in a tiny apartment that are having a baby in a couple of weeks. It's what works best for them.

Marisssa, you're not alone in that feeling!
