So dissappointed....

Haven't posted here in awhile, but really need to vent...

So one of my friends is getting married and long story short, her MOH has not planned anything and I found out my friend is really dissappointed, and her fiance even says that MOH is really flaky, cancels plans all the time, etc.

So Future Groom's sister and I start communicating and decide we are going to plan the shower (Even though neither of us are in the bridal party -in fact, there is NO bridal party, just a flower girl & MOH.) Now my friend is really excited and yesterday, I get 5 RSVP's within 15 min of each other, all declining. And what gets me, is the 5 women that declined are all in the same circle of friends and its like, what, if one person doesn't go they won't all go?? I dunno, I just don't get it...

I guess I'm just dissapointed b/c I was really excited to throw the shower and I feel like no one wants to come. Granted, they all live in White Plains and the shower is in Jersey City, but I don't think an hour is that far of a drive. Any thoughts??

Sorry you are going through this. :( weddings just bring out the worst in people...everything will go great forget about those 5 people...even if there is only like 10 people there it will be fine! It's what you make of it :)

I agree, weddings really do bring out the worst in people! I have a friend who was in my bridal party and didn't show any interest in anything for my wedding. That being said, you also see the best in the people who really care about you. It's so nice of you to throw a shower for your friend, try not to let other people get you down, it will still be a great day with the people who love her enough to come to the shower.

i agree with the other two posts...weddings bring out the worst in people and for whatever reason, that small clique of friends all decided not to attend. Continue planning your friends bridal shower and make sure she enjoys it! she will definately remember what an amazing friend she has to do this for her. Plus she'll remember who was there for her on her day and who didn't show.

What you are doing for her is so sweet. You are a great friend. That is really sad that her MOH is doing nothing for her. You deserved that spot more than her. She will always remember what you did for her.

Thanks everyone. Sigh. I have a feeling her MOH isn't even going to come to the shower. I'm glad I'm doing this though :)

How awful! Ya know, it seems to take a wedding to find out who your friends really are. I know it opened up MY eyes! She'll have a great shower no matter who is there and who isn't anyway.
