Did he indicate if 'waiting a bit' was 4 months or 4 years? Maybe he would accept a bid with a closing date that was 6-8 months away.

Good Luck!!! I put a bid in about 1 month ago for my DREAM home and I lost it to another bidder who bid 15K over the asking price. I couldn't match it so we're still looking...........

I totally understand your frustration, we had found a home in June, it was perfect for us, the owner was a NYC firefighter, as is my husband, and we each had a mutual friend. We offered a little over asking and figured that we would get the house..NOT..he sold it to someone who had 30% to put down..talk about a heartbreaker haven't come close to finding anything since

Coleen, what is meant to be yours will be yours, don't work yourself up over it. I hope you get it tho' it sounds like you really like it. Why would he list it then not be certain if he is ready to sell.

The realtor we have been working with told us that its not uncommon right now. People put thier home on the market before they have someplace to go and then decide they are not ready to move because they cant find anything. There were a number of houses that we were scheduled to see that were taken off the market before we ever got there.

I am not exactly sure what he is waiting for. We are definately willing to wait a little. But we don't even know for how long. AGGHHH! I hope he makes up his mind soon.
