So I just got back from the ER...

I just spent the last 4 hours at the ER bc Friday night I got a bite in the back of my thigh.. Fast forward to today when it swelled up the size of a softball with a white ring around it..

Here I was entertaining my best friend who was in from Vegas and I have to leave the BBQ to go to the ER..

They have no idea what caused such a reaction.. they think it may have been a spider bite and it caused an infection in my skin.. You have to see the pics to believe it and as soon as I get them from my mom, I will post them..

They actually wanted to admit me and put me on intraveneous antibiotic IV and I was having no part of that.. So they gave me like 2000mg of Augmentin and gave me blood tests for Lyme Disease, which so far came back negative (it's totally not lyme disease).. I have to go to my regular dr by Tuesday to get a check up and take the Augmentin for like a week..

All over a bite.. and it's soooooo itchy too!!!

dayna, i'm so sorry to hear about your ordeal! i hope you're not in pain & the antibiotics clear everything up.

i would have been freaking the whole time

EAT YOGURT!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S A LOT OF AUGMENTIN!!! you need to replace some of the normal flora the abx will kill....yogurt and acidophilus

yes - make sure you take some acidopholus or however you spell it!!!

i cannot take augmentin - it gives me the itchies - EVERY TIME...it's now on my 'allergy' list at the doc & pharmacy...

spider bites are the worst!!! The same thing happened to my sister but it was on her forearm. Hope youre feeling better

The swelling has totally gone down a lot.. which is great.. I hvae to fill th eprescription this morning.. I took off from work but I am contemplating going in for a few hours bc what am I going to do at home, although I would like a pedicure!!!
