So i'm going camping for the FIRST TIME this wknd....
which means there are no guarantees that i will make it back alive!
soontobmrsvpt (heather) and her hubby and friends are taking myself and my DH upstate to do some real camping. i've never done it--and i'm not sure whats in store for us. any tips ladies?

It's ALOT of fun.I went for the first time with my brother, my husband and a few friends last year.However, I just wore flip flops . What did I know?( we were at a festival ).In any event, bring sneakers, and comfy cozy blankets. It gets COLD. And the dew can drip through your tent at night, and soak ya, like it it did to us. Drip Drip Drip. Horrible. It was .....well to be blatent! NIPPLE COLD. Some places have showers, how ever this place you had seperate shower stalls, but when you got out, it was butt naked to get your towel.Otherwise, bring lots of ice for your beers or whatever, bug spray and enjoy. It's alot of fun.

well we bought this spray that they use--its to waterproof your tent...something about it keeps it from dripping or something. and we got one of those big 2 room cabin tents--so i hope it works out !
yeah no showers...no bathrooms. just a nearby stream to rinse off in -- so that's why i'm hoping i survive!!!
oh and the ice & beers---YEAH that's the #1 priority for everyone. i plan on being drunk from friday - sunday!!!

I used to go all the time with my ex.!
It feels like you are in another world and it's so relaxing.
I have been camping in the most gorgeous weather and I have been camping where it rained for 48 hours, don't matter it is a blast!

Tent Love: When sleeping in a smaller tent while camping and being molested by your drunken partner. Can be either homosexual or straight molestation but unwanted attention nonetheless. Usually happens after a few too many drinks around the campfire.

Believe it or not I actually took a camping and backpacking class in college and hiked part of the appalachian trail....(West Virginia part)....I LOVED camping.....(we went on two weekend trips)
We had no showers or bathrooms but one night had a shelter to sleep in...which consists of a roof and hardwood floor and 100 other people....no walls lol
DONT pack a lot.....trail mix is your best friend.....Straighten your hair very good and bring a hat lol.....
bring feminine wipes for shower purposes, they saved my life. & camping places have TP for camping....get that!
when setting up tent make sure your in a flat area w/ no rocks that'll stick you....that hurts when rolling over onto a massive pebble...
Bug spray
NEVER leave food anywhere, not even a wrapper
HAVE FUN.....it really is such a nice relaxing time!

Also want to add, def. bring warm clothes it's gets cold at night, bug spray is a must and believe it or not baby wipes, even if there is bathrooms there the toilet paper sometimes feels like construction paper
Also, if there is showers they are usually coin operated so bring change with you and flip flops for the shower (Floor is not so nice in there)

Good tips ladies! the area we are camping at is part of some private property---so its not a camping site per say--so there will be no facilities or anything. we're gonna just be roughing it. i'm excited and nervous at the same time. lol
the temperature for the wknd in that area says highs in the mid 60's and low's around 39-45...so i will be sure to bring some warm clothes!!!
and i'm gonna go to target and get some wipies and such. i won't bother with a bunch of changes of clothes--cause really i can't shower! so i'm sure 2 pairs of sweats and 2 hoodies will be good enough for me.

Wear hiking boots bring sweaters and warm clothes bring a shovel & TP so you can bury your sh!t!!!!! [yes we had to do this] air mattress is a MUST tie all food up into a bag and hang from a tree during the night
where you guys going? is the hike very long to the site you're crashing at?

we have a mattress -- so we're good with that. and we'll be bringing the shovel to bury our poop
i don't know if its a huge hike to the camping area on the property--i have to ask heather about that.

Ohhhhhhh and one more thing....make sure you look up at the sky at night.It's the most beautiful thing ever.You can see most of the constellations, ( if you can see at that point ) .Other than that, you'll have a ball. Hope the water proofing spray works.

blow up AIR MATTRESS........ I can't sleep on a sleeping bag in a tent anymore......
We have a power inverter that we plug into the cigarette lighter of the car and blow up the air matress that way. It just makes sleeping that much more comfortable.
