so sad today -- Update!

I know I've been MIA lately. DH is leaving for Ranger School tomorrow, so i've been trying to spend as much time with him as possible. I've known about this school for a long time, and I've been trying to mentally prepare myself for it -- he'll be gone for 2 months, no phone calls or emails...just letters (when he has time to write). Its a tough school -- very little sleep, not much to eat, a lot of physical activity, and they're very hard on them. DH currently has a sprained ankle...so he's going into it injured, which wont fair well for him in the end.

I have til 5:00pm tomorrow with him, and then we say goodbye We've been seperated for months before, so its not the first time, but it didnt really sink in til today. I've been so moapy and sad all day. Trying to stay upbeat for him....but ugh....it s u c k s.

I can imagine just how difficult it will be, but it will be worth it in the end and also as hard as it is, hopefully time will fly!

First of all, when 5:00 comes, you say see ya soon. Never Goodbye.. That always makes me feel better.Write a letter today,already telling him how much you miss him. It'l lfill his heart with all the love that you have for him, and it'll be dated the day he left, even more special. Hang in there. Here are some hugs to hold you over

My BIL is in Ranger School. You should be so proud of him for getting in. I know that doesn't help & I know you'll miss him but just now that its SO HARD to get into that program so he must be the best of the best. He'll make it through just fine.

My only advice is to try to keep yourself busy and the time will go by faster. I know easier said then done.

DH and I spent several months apart in the past. I know this time is going to be really hard but try to keep yourself busy and definitely keep writing him letters everyday.

Oh my..that is tough ...just hang in there just think about that moment when you two finally meet up again...its going to be magical!

Thank you all for your support We're spending a few hours together right now, and then we'll be heading out so i can drop him off. I'm definately trying to stay positive.

I'm so so proud of him....but also so worried about him making it through. I'm going to take all your advice, write him a letter to send out right away, and stay super busy. I'm actually going to be leaving Tuesday morning to drive down to Florida to visit my grandparents for a week -- that'll take my mind off things hopefully

I'll keep you all updated as soon as I get back from dropping him off.

Don't worry. The time is going to FLY by. And at the end, he'll have the honor of being a Ranger. Try not to worry about him too much. His adrenaline will carry him through, and yours will too.

Thanks for your thoughts and support girls. I took him over to the Ranger Training area at 5:00. When we got there, I was totally prepared to say goodbye to him. A friend of ours knocked on our window to tell us that all he has to do is sign in and then he's released to go back home til 2:00am. So, we parted for 20 minutes while he signed in, and then I sped home so we could spend a few more hours together!

Its been nice -- I'm looking at it like bonus time. We pretty much cuddled on the couch for a few hours and then he went to bed at 8:45 to get a few hours of rest before I have to drop him back off again.

I'm sure at 2:00 when I drop him off I'll be emotional, but for now, I'm doing okay.
