Is it Mirena?

Just a warning: My old roommate had Mirena put in and she was in pain (cramps) for 3 months unitl the doc decided to take it out.

It's obv not painful for some people and I do know that she has a low threshold for pain, but it was like 3 months straight of annoying period cramps.

My friend had it done - she said it was a fairly quick procedure!

You'll be okay. I had to have a couple of surgeries 'down there' and the best thing I can tell you is RELAX. Control your breathing. Bring your iPod - they might let you listen to tunes during the procedure. The more relaxed you are, the faster the whole thing is finished - it's very, very true.

You'll be fine!!!

not Mirena- Paragard. difference is no hormones.

its not supposed to be a bad procedure i'm just a wuss. my sis-in-law (who is a dr) says IUD are the best things ever and Paragard has come highly recommended. if it does end up bothering me i'll take it out but its worth a shot! we're too paranoid for pull n' pray or anything like that, i like the peace of mind of actual medical birth control but i can't use the pill anymore (i can't be on hormonal birth control).
