Social security office

what do you need besides the marriage certificate when u go to the social security office.

Although stupid me did it through the mail...I can tell you that you need to prove identity. I would say bring your marriage license, drivers license/passport, and your old ss card.

I went to the SS office on 10/19. I got there at 9:30. There were about 20 people on line in front of me and I wa sthere for a total of 40 minutes. 35 of them on line. 5 minutes with the person taking care of me. There are 4 booths and 3 of them take care of the name changes, etc... It wasn't bad at all. AND I got my new SS Card on Tuesday! It took less than 2 weeks!
