Anyone know if you have to bring your old SS card with you when you go to change your name? I don't think I know where mine is.

i went today and their computers were down. i went with my birth certificate, my old social card, my passport, my old license and new, my marriage certif... all they asked me for was my marriage certificate to make a copy of and they said we'll mail u a receipt.

They didnt take mine but they did advise me to shred it when I got the new one in the mail. So I did,

I lost mine so I did not bring mine with me. I didn't mention that I lost it either...the woman never asked! I just showed her my marriage certificate and driver's license.
