Well I finally have some proofs and since Dh is away right now doing POW training and we have no contact I'm bored and scanned some of them for you. Anyone who is doing a digital Album, they are awesome! I love mine!

The Reception at the Imperial Manor.. Is it the Sterling now?? We told them they couldn't change the since till after our date because it would screw up all of dh's family.

They did a great job for only 4 weeks notice when we finally able to reschedule after postponing 3 weeks prior to our orginal date and they gave us a great military discount but we lost some guests for our new date and we still had to cover our minimum which ****ed even though they shrunk the room down.

Our favors you can see on the table. They are clear giftbox candles with tulle and kisses. If you go to Crystal International Gifts an extra of our favor is their display!

Dh and I just travelled 22 hours with our top layer in a cooler by car down to florida for our first anniversary next month. It will travel 13 hours to Texas next week

You mentioned that you got a military discount - did you find that many halls gave a discount? I ask because my brother is in the Navy and is looking for a reception site for his wedding - I don't think he has thought of asking about that!

I don't understand how your brother couldn't mention being in the Navy. For us, we were having a military wedding w/ a saber arch, cutting the cake with his saber as well as other military traditions so for most of our vendors it came up. Also the fact that I had a camcorder with me and not a fiance since my fiance was in Colorado Springs made them ask as well.
It ended up being a good thing because the USAF made us postponed our orginal date roughly a month prior to it and all of our vendors were understanding and help deposits and promised to work with us. So, that when Aug28th rolled around and we found out everyone had Sept 27th open they all booked us with less then a month notice.

We never asked for a discount but we were offered some. My husband is and Officer, a trained pilot and only clears about 20,000 a year so we greatly appreciated it plus we had some pretty wonderful vendors. And any vendor who didn't offer a discount was amazing in many other ways to us.

Hopefully your brother won't have to deal with postpoining and rescheduling like we did it. It all happened without our control and led to new invites, new favor ribbns, and many other things that added up!

I wish your brother and his new wife the best of luck. It's very hard. My husband is TDR right now and in 2 hours our movers are arriving and next week we are moving 800 miles to Texas and that will be our second big move since our wedding which was only last Sept!

Ps any discounts offered was also because we booked in Feb 02 for a July 02 wedding and we were not that far our from our date. The usual on LI is atleast a year to 2 years so they knew most likely they weren't going to have a wedding that day
