I cant stand all this $hit!!!! With DH now living in my mother' and my apartment it is H ELL!!!! My mother cant move out til my sister finds a nursing job and she will move in with her, they need a bigger place. Plus DH is out of work and my mother and I are paying for eveything here. So DH hooked 'his' TV up in the livingroom. Now my mother always domained the livingroom and 'her' TV til DH moved in. Now it's a battle!!! DH is home most of the day and can watch TV play video games and whatever but, he doesnt stop when my mom gets home. He says its 'his' TV, bla bla bla. He does give the TV up at times, dont get me wrong but, I have my mother stopping around, slamming doors and him thinking he can do whatever he wants. Am I making sense right now I cant stand that they cant share and they are grown people. I look at it like my mother pays here share to live here she should get the TV when she gets home from work but, she should share it as well. Also she has to stop acting like a baby and use her words, my mom has always been that way. Just like DH needs to learn that it has been my mom's and my place for 8 years, we are paying the bills and we dont need 'his' TV hooked up, my mom's was fine and when she moves out 'his' TV can get hooked up. Then we dont have to hear that it is 'his' TV.
UUUGGGGG Im just stressed and fighting with the both of them. DH has moved in here thinking he can do whatever he wants but, doesnt realize he cant. He moved in here with us, my mom, son and I and things are alittle different then just the 2 of us living together. This is putting a HUGE strain on all of us and I jsut dont know what to do anymore.
Sorry just needed to vent I just wish they would comprimise somehow

Its a 52' and way to big, there is no room. I just want to disconnect it and he can watch whatever he wants in my room and play video games, as long as Im not sleeping. But he is a big baby now since he had his TV and no other TV is good enough for him.

Well its a flat panel you may be able to mount it on the wall....if that doesnt work..the compromise should be if he watches tv all day your mom should get some time to watch as well...its only fair and he should respect that...if you have a smaller tv he can watch that in the bedroom.

Mmmm, this can be resolved easily if people were willing to just offer a little compromise. Like times when people watch TV? Mom watches it from the time she gets home til dinnertime. Or DH watches TV elswhere when your Mom feels like watching TV in the living room. Someone has to bend here.

Yes they both have to comprimise and they were just fighting. Im just gonna disconnect his TV and put her's back in there and he will have to watch it when she is not home and comprimse with me when we watch TV. I hope that works and he will have to play his da mn a$$ video games when Im not home. I just hope it works.

Yes he can watch TV in my room but trust me there is no room in my room for the TV either way.

I hear where you are coming from but you do have to think he is your husband and your future.... its got to be hard for him moving into you and your moms place. I know my husband loves my parents but would REFUSE to live with them and thats in a big house.
I think you will be best off when your mom moves out. At that point you should probably rearrange every room, paint, do whatever it takes to make it you and DH's place and not your place that DH lives in.

awww im sorry you are dealing with this...moving in with someone in general is an adjustment, but when you throw and extra person in the mix its going to be even harder! DH has to be more conciderate that there is someone else that lives there. Its an adjustment for your mom too and she has to understand there is an extra person in the house too! its only been a couple weeks, soo as soon as everyone gets more comfortable with the situation they should get better. hugs!!

I agree with everyone on the compromise, but I think Michelle has a point, too. For instance, you said that it is 'my room.' If you say that in front of him, it might hurt his feelings? It's kind of both of your room now. Maybe he feels like he doesn't have a place, since you all have been situated for so long...

I have to agree here. I moved into DH's house 2 years ago and to this day he still slips and says 'my house' instead of 'our house' and it drives me insane!!! I used to want to sell this house and get a house that is actually ours but financially that would be really stupid. So I see where your DH is coming from and how he might feel out of place. But on the other hand he should be curtious to your mom and let her watch TV when she comes home from work since he's been using theTV all day.

I understand what you guys are saying but, he is comfy enough to say what is on his mind without thinking. They just need to learn to get along and both act like adults so it doenst worsen for any of us.

Re: Someone shoot me
First off - to you.
I would imagine that it would be a very difficult position for everyone. Your DH is in the position of moving into 'your' space and your mom is in the position of having 'her' space taken over. You, loving them both, are in the middle.
I don't know what kind of advice to offer, but I think that everyone needs to compromise. When do you think your mom will be moving out? Do you think things would improve if DH was working?
I agree with Michelle that DH is your future and no matter how much you love your mom, you have to put his needs first. I struggle with this sometimes too (I think we all do), but you, your son and DH are now a family unit.
Your mom is planning to move in with your sister - do you know about when your sister will be getting a nursing position - is she interviewing? I think you need to look for the light at the end of the tunnel.....
Again, I am so sorry you're going through this.
