I am not paying extra for digital cable- I hate cablevision to start with. But I miss my country stations. I got the new Tim McGraw CD for Christmas. I hope he has some concert dates close to NY soon.

I am a huge country fan! My DH can't stand it! I used to work for the Long Island country radio station ~ miss it so much!

Leslie, what happened to that station? I mean I know it went to 80's and stuff but was the market not there here on LI?

Not at all ~ country sations just don't do well here. It really is a shame. People have a stereo-type of country listeners. I'm sure none of use fit into that stereo-type! When I sold for them people would say people with gun racks on there cars and have no teeth are NOT my customer! So...it was a HARD sell, but I loved it!

Leslie, that's so surprising to me (the stereotype) b/c country music has changed a lot AND there seems to be so many of us [just on the LIW site] that love country music, and we're not gun-toting toothless people!

Seems like so many women love country music but not a single country station can stay afloat in this area. That stinks!

I still feel that it can be done if it is marketed correctly, and advertise more than just line dancing clubs!

I have seen Brooks & Dunn twice, Tim McGraw, Tina McBride and Alan Jackson and those were GREAT concerts. I also saw Brooks &Dunn in WY and there is nothing better than a sea of cowboys in jeans, boots and cowboy hats

Joe Dee Messinna is one of my favorites - saw her at Westbury. And Tim & Faith were awesome together - can there be a better looking couple?!
