Sooooo I have this wedding Sat night @ The Waldorf...

It's 'the boss's daughter', who I also work with. Anywayyyyy, DH and I booked a room to make a weekend of it .

Then we decided to take his uncle and cousin to brunch on Sunday at the Water Club, which oughta run us about $300! The hotel room is about $200 and valet parking is $45 - which KILLS me!!

After much thought, we decided we'd use my sister's apt. in the city and cancel the room...

To make this loooooooong story short!!! I get a message today from my boss's personal assistant saying 'Don't cancel your room, Norman (the boss)is taking care of it'.

Ugh.

Now what?? Do I graciously accept his offer and stay at the hotel (which I really would prefer), or, go ahead and cancel the reservation and thank him anyway??

BTW, $$$ is *no* object here. He's paying almost $300 pp and they have 330 coming... not to mention, he's picking up the tab for all 20+ guest rooms, the GM's tuxes...and the whole shebang! Nice daddy!!

If you've read this far, the point of this post was to get advice!!

I would feel funny if he were just paying for my room, but since he's paying for ALL of them, definitely stay there!

Thanks for all the responses, ladies!!! I'll thank him tomorrow and of course, send him a TY next week w/ a gift...now, what to get the man that has everything??

DH really wants to stay at the hotel, too... mostly b/c he won't have 'hanky-panky' at my sister's!! (He wants to practice bringing on labor )

I know, TMI...

Funny, DH and I stayed at the Best Western near Vinyard Caterers last week and it cost us $200!!!! It was the grossest hotel I've ever stayed at. Boy, I would've rather stayed at the Waldorf for the same amount!!!

I would go for it. How many times in your life will you be able to stay at the Walforf, especially when your not paying lol. That means he really wants you 2 to be comfortable and to be there. Have fun!!!

and like Lisa said, since he's paying for everyone, it shouldnt make you feel so bad
and you can send a nice TY like everyone suggested.

have lots of fun!!! take some pics that we can drool over (of the waldorf) , and post on monday...

so what to get him? hmmm....no clue there

and send a really nice thank you, like someone suggested an expensive bottle of wine or perhaps a huge giftbasket for maybe over $100 (you can find them all over the internet)..
