umm i have no clue! lol i didnt know there was that many local place to camp around here! im open to go anywhere...i was just going with suggestions of what people gave me

I can ask DH. He used to go camping all the time as a kid. I know of 2 offhand:

1. wildwood in wading river
2. indian island in rivehead

I think you can also camp at smithspoint beach in mastic beach.

my friends & I camped at Indian Island after prom for the weekend. it was a blast. hot as hell, but a lot of fun! My friends drank and even though we were all 17-18, not a single person bothered us.

If I remember correctly, you have to have a Green Key card in order to reserve a campsite...and a certain # of people can camp under that Green Key. The link above is for the green keys.

I dont remember what the fees were above that...

I spoke to Eric last night and he told me that Wildwood is really strict with drinking and they make you put your fire out by 10:00. So I think that's out

He said southhaven park is a good place to camp because they're very lenient,

Oh so sad.


if its on LI I def wont make it with that wedding being upstate.

We need to do upstate - nobody ever comes up by us!!!!!!!!!!

im fine with going upstate..it thinks its more a campy atmospher! and besides the place we were looking at is only 2-2 1/2 hours away! riverhead is about 1 1/2 from me. I dont mind the extra hour drive...DH and i are always in the car and i enjoy sleeping while DH drives! LOL

if more people can make it if its upstate then we will do it upstate!

gail we can carpool if you want! it will be a fun road trip! and play silly road trip games! LOL
