Sorry but need help again with bday party

Ugh i am so confused and need to decide ASAP. I was hoping to book today, i called the Flatotel to book the suite but they said no parties. Now we had a bachelorette party there but im afraid with 50 ppl or more it can get hard to disguise ya know. I called a bunch of other hotels and alot of them wont allow parties. The Rivington hotel has a 3 story penthouse that allows it(this one i think is 5k for one night though so not keeping my hopes up but maybe for feb it will be alot less lol), but the sales dept has to call me tomorrow to give me a rate. I also tried the night hotel which i loved their gothic style and their 2 floor penthouse is gorgeous, the rate was amazing too(they said normal rates are 3k-4k a night but for feb he can give it to me for $1500) and when the guy told me i was ready to book right then and there. Now on their site it says the penthouse is available for private parties, so when i brought this up they said oh if you want to book it for a party its a bit different, he said i cant bring in food or drinks from outside and have to get it through their hotel only, which they will probably charge me insane prices. Again he said to call sales dept tomorrow and they will tell me the rate. If its not too much higher than what they told me today then it wont be bad but if its going to be ALOT more not sure what i'll do.

However, someone on BHB suggested Madame X. I called them up and they have a private party room upstairs i can use. Its a burlesque type place. The lady was so nice and helpful and was on the phone with me for like 30 mins or more explaining every option i have and the best way to save me money lol. Theres more than one option, i can rent the room per hour and its an amazing price per hour or i can do the room but do bar guarantee instead which again was a great price and if im throwing a party for dh i'd rather pay for the drinks so i would do that. She even suggested that if i start the party at 8 not to rent the private area from 8 until late at night bc nobody is there at 8 so to just use their downstairs main room for free and at 10pm when ppl even start to show up to go to the private room and pay from then on. You can also hire burlesque dancers to dance in your private room so i would do that. I am liking this option alot, and like the whole burlesque thing.

But ive been doing more research. I do want to find out the rate for rivington penthouse and night hotel penthouse. Plus tomorrow i want to call the hudson hotel bc they have ALOT of rooms that are used just for events and they are pretty cool and all very different. The reason i still want to look into this option bc i was thinking of doing kind of a casino theme, i looked up renting casino tables so considering that, then hiring some type of dancers, maybe still hire some type of burlesque dancers or belly dancers. Also throw in cigars and scotch in somehow lol. I figured gambling, dancers, cigars and scotch themed would be great for DH oh somebody on bhb also mentioned this loft they went to a party to and that it was great so i am gonna call that place tomorrow too. I gotta decide soon bc february is getting booked up for ppl i know lol. Right now i think the only time i can do it is feb 28th, its a bit late for his bday party but i have no choice as of now.

Does anybody have any other suggestions before i decide. I like to look at a bunch of options before i decide on anything, i had decided on flatotel after researching but today when i tried to book it was all ruined lol. But right now i cant even do that. I had to work 70 hours this week and even worked on saturday until late. This week will be the same and who knows for how long. I cant even use the phone at work or computer so cant do it then. Plus i was so busy this week i was only able to go to lunch 1 day out of the 6 days so i have to call places quick, maybe while im commuting or somehow and then book asap. I dont even know how grrr lol

any help will be appreciated. I dont want formal places with sit down dinner or catering hall type places.

The Madam X option sounds great. Years ago, I had a friend who worked there, and she loved the place, loved working there - and hung out there when she wasn't working - that's all I can offer.
I wouldn't look at any more options - you have so little free time and a few good options - pick one, trust your gut and go with it. They all sound great, so I really don't think you can go wrong.

its his 30th birthday thats the only reason why, another birthday i wouldnt go so crazy about but it should be special lol. His brother actually asked me on friday what im planning to do and even offered to pay half which is amazing, DH will be touched by that when he finds out. But i told his brother about madame x and he loved the idea and thinks it would be great for DH, he also said i think we should go with that. I hate that im like this and dont just go with something right away, i should just save myself the trouble lol, i mean no matter what it does sound great so i guess i shouldnt worry lol, thank you. My pleasure, even though I didn't help that much! I am the same way, don't feel bad - I second guess every decision I make. I drive myself (and DH in turn) crazy. My mother was going nuts wedding dress shopping with me, and now, you can imagine what I'm like house/apartment hunting!

Yeah i should stop second guessing myself. The only reason i am is bc i had the whole casino theme in mind and wanted to rent the casino tables so thats why i was still trying to see if i can do a hotel or maybe a loft, but if the casino thing doesnt work out it will be fine and im sure dh wont mind a burlesque place

it s*cks bc alot of the ppl in the sales dept at hotels are off today. I did hear from some lofts, there is one in soho and the price was good and it was favorite from the pics bc it wasnt too big which would look weird when its meant for 300 ppl but im inviting like 50-60 lol. So im considering it.

Then alot of bars/lounges/clubs i call that have private party rooms are a bit weird. Like they dont understand that i dont want to just call ppl out for drinks to celebrate, i would if it was any other bday but for his 30th i want more like an actual party. So they keep suggesting doing partial privacy, or doing it just for 2-3 hours and then opening up the room after. Or one suggested i just open a bar tab instead of doing the $1400 guarantee bc she said im sure alot of ppl might stop by for just 20 mins, uhmmm i hope not lol, or saying i shouldnt even serve food lol

the funniest was i called the metropolitan building in LIC and that woman was crazy. First of all she was on the phone with me and another person at the same exact time, they have 2 phones i guess and she was holding up both phones to her ear asking us the same questions. It was a coincidence bc the other person was also throwing a 30th bday. She told me $150 per person, i said oh wait no i dont want a formal sit down, i dont want ppl at tables, i want it done more like a lounge, i want to rent the space out and rent the couches, chairs and stuff like that, a few tables and set it up myself and she said oh yeah the $150 person is not for formal dinner, W** is she talking about, what is the price for not a formal dinner then over $200 per person, i know the $150 per person is for formal. SHe was just weird and instead of saying goodbye she said 'can i say goodbye now' lol

then i found a speakeasy that i really like bc dh would really be into that but they book 2 parties a night there one from 7-10 then 10:30-1:30am which i dont want for just those hours

ahhhh why cant i just find a space i can rent, i will provide food and drinks and entertainment and all that, i didnt think this would be so hard

I know 40/40 club has private rooms not sure specifics, also Slate is a pool hall in the city its really nice they have private rooms as well again dont know specifics.

Im trying to think...... what about a resturant with a nice private room, maybe they can offer a buffet style menu so their is food but you wont be paying a lot per person?

Dont know how you feel about Bayside but Nono's is a nice lounge/bar and I have had friends do party's there...they have [passed hordourvers and a finger foods and its like 30/35 a person, Cassarino on Bell Blvd has a nice deal like this too more $pp I think 40 45 but more food and the upstairs is a cool lounge type place....HTH

well i want to be able to hire dancers to come in also, so depending on the restaurant, also was thinking of renting casino tables. I would do a restaurant but depends on the hours, it would be late i would do it and many wont stay open that late, i dont want to end around midnight or 1am so thats where its a problem. I dont mind queens, i was also just looking into a few places in LIC. As long as they have what im looking for then its good.

I just called the night hotel back which i really want to book their penthouse. Yesterday the guy told me usually its 3k-4k but he can give it to me for $1500 but if i want to do a party i have to talk to someone in the sales dept bc then i have to get food and drinks through them. I just talked to the lady in the sales dept and she was telling me $3k-4k and i said this includes food and drinks? she said no and then gave me the prices for that, she said i can have a party and i asked if i have to get food/drinks from them and she said no only if i wanted to. SO then i said to her that yesterday i was told $1500 for the room, she was like 'oh didnt know somebody quoted you already' well ok if somebody told you that then fine ill do $1500' you can tell she wasnt happy lol and even asked me for the name of the person who told me this lol. Its annoying though bc i would've booked this place yesterday at $1500 if the guy didnt tell me that for a party i HAVE to get food/drinks from them and now i find out i dont have to. She has to call me back to see if the date i want is available bc somebody put a tentative hold on it. Its annoying bc now she probably has a problem with doing it for 1500 so wouldve been great if i just booked yesterday lol. oh well i was told that price so now i want it for that price and i dont want to get food and drinks from them either. They want $70 per person per hour for food and hor dourves,that would be over $200 per person lol

Awe sorry it's becoming so much back and forth. Maybe you should narrow it down to 3 places you'd really like to do. Then maybe make pro and con list to decide between the places. They all sound like fun but it's annoying that different people from the same place are saying different things. Good luck Denise!

yeah its funny but today i narrowed it down to 3 places. So i just want to take a day to think about it and like you said go over the pros and cons. They're all so different too. One is a private room in a big club, the other is a private room in a burlesque type lounge and the other is a penthouse in a hotel. The big club is allowing me to do whatever i want, bring in whatever food i want, can get me a dj for a good price and the price is good. Madame x is different and cool, i like the burlesque thing. The penthouse i like bc its more intimate and relaxed in a way, i like that if ppl want to take off their shoes and hang out they can, theres no time limit since i would have it until the next day at noon and i have room to do stuff with the space. But thank you so much
