I think you hit the nail on the head... he really DID expect 'savages'.......
but the most stunning part is the part no one is really discussing.... that he was saying these jaw-dropping things while trying to preach tolerance... in otherwords, he presumed that his mindset is the common perspective, and that every other white person would be 'stunned' by this civilized behavior too......

Ann Coulter says outrageous things, but there's a wierd part of me that thinks she doesn't really mean them.... that she says inflamatory things to get people pumped up
