spinoff question- do you ever dream of people who've passed away?

spinoff question- do you ever dream of people who've passed away?

I had such a weird dream last night.....but I'm pulling some symbolism from it, so it actually makes me feel good.

It started out and I was at the Brooklyn Bridge, then all of a sudden I'm in Burger King.....and guess who's working behind the counter???? My happy husband Michael- so bizarre b/c he's standing there wearing the headset and he's happy as anything with his 'welcome to burger king may i help you??' (so not him btw, he's Mr. antisocial!!). then I look around Burger King, and I see my grandmother (who lived in Finland and never got a chance to meet DH before she passed in 2003), is sitting there at a table. So then I say to her, grandma come over here and meet Michael. And then the next part of my dream is that she's sleeping over our house and telling me the A/C was too cold (no clue how that relates to anything?

Well in my own way, I felt like maybe this dream was bridging Mike & my grandmother together? I woke up this morning and I was actually happy, it just left me with such a good feeling. I just had to share with you guys.

***OK, I'll ask a spinoff question.......do you ever dream about people who've passed away?

I usually dream about my dad when I do, and it always feels real to me like he never died, that's why it was strange to me that I dreamt about my grandmother.

I actually think it's nice that at least in your dream Mike got to meet your grandmother!

you know, i still dream about my aunt Jean, and Alot of times i am filling her in on stuff that has been taking place in my life. I always know that she is not alive when i am talking to her but she is right there in front of me and we are always in her apartment on liberty ave... I too always wake up and feel happy.

Maybe it was your subconscious filling your grandma in on what new with you

I love those dreams!

I dream about many people close to me who have passed...to me they are 'visitations'..because in the dream I am always saying 'wait...you are dead'...but get to hug them & hang out with them as if they are here with me, and when i wake up i am usually in a great mood

I even had a dream about my friend's Dad who i never met...and in it he was telling me how proud he was of her...so i passed the message along.

I hardly ever dream about people who passed, which is why when I do I think that they are really visiting us. I only recall dreaming about my father twice--both at very difficult times of my life.
DH actually dreamt about my father when we were engaged (he never met him). In his dream, he was meeting my dad, knowing he was dead, for the first time.

I dream about my Dad alot. It's always the same kind of thing-I know he's dead but he's alive for a little while and then he's dead again. It's very strange.

I get the same thing. I dream about my mom as if she is still alive, and there were a couple of times where the dreams were so real that I thought she still was.
Right after she died I was convinced her spirit was still with me because every once in a while I would feel a hand on my cheek. Kind of freaky, but strangely it comforted me. It doesn't happen anymore so I believe that her spirit found rest.

I have dreams about my Mom once in a while and I'm always so glad when I do......nothing significant, except for once.
I wish it were more often

I remember hearing somewhere that when you dream of people who have died it is there way of visiting you. So I believe your Grandma came to you in your dream for a reason. (obviously to meet Mike)

I dream about my Grandma alot too. I wake up feeling happy but not always sure what my dream was about... just remembering that my Grandma was in the dream.

I do believe that people who have passed visit you in your dreams, to me it is there way to show you that they are still with you. I dream about both of my parents but I dream more about my mom. The first time I had a dream with my mom it kind of freaked me out a little, because it was shortly after she died. She let me know that she was ok, wasn't in any pain and was now home with her mom. I woke up with a sense of peace.

I've dreamt of my grandfather who passed away 22 years ago. I haven't had a dream in a while of him but it's happend in the past. I just love it b/c I feel like I get to see him and talk to him again and it's been so long!

A lot of people believe (including myself) that when you dream these dreams, thier actually the real people visiting us...

I have had dreams of people who passed(and pets), and it usually feels so good when I wake up like i really saw them, the dream is usually so much more real then other dreams...

I dream about my grandmother all the time. I had a dream about her on the day of my shower and wedding and she basically told me that everything will work out perfectly and she loves me and misses me but I have to let go because she is happy where she is now... weird but comforting in a wAy...

Before she passed away she told me that if she ever died she will ALWAYS be with me and I think she is....

aww thanks! yea it's so funny b/c it shows my grandma's traditional side.....I'm with Mike for 7 years, but she didn't show up in any dreams until we got married!! (my uncle has lived w/ his common law wife for over 20 years, but it always bothered my grandma that they never officially married, even after having my cousin.....so I guess she was holding out til me & Mike made it official! it really makes me feel good!

it's funny that you said you usually don't know what your dream was about, that's more like how my dreams are with my dad, we're just kind of sitting around doing normal things like when he was alive, its never anything too out of the ordinary (like going to Burger King lol!)

I love thinking of it as 'visits'.....it makes me feel connected. I agree the dreams are usually more vivid than other dreams.

I never have actually. I have very odd dreams most of the time; wacky random stuff that gets worse when I dont write for a long time..lol guess creativity needs to coe out one way or the other. I'd like to ahve dreams about my grandmother-good ones, but never do. I like your dream though. Its nice they finally 'got to meet' in some way.

I have, the most recent one was not as nice as yours tho. I was talking to a friend of mine about 2 months ago about a mutual friend who passed awhile ago. We were talking about wierd things that have happened~that make you think they are still around. No issue, went to bed. And in the dream I kept hearing 'watch what I can do' and then something would happen, the chair would pull out from the table, he would knock somehting over and when I would look at whatever it was he would be standing there witha smirk on his face.

Usually they are good but this one was out there
