I was just curious but how many of you practice safe sun??? I've been so bad with my skin and tanning that it gets me super afraid. Last year I killed my skin with the pre-wedding tanning and then the honeymoon. This year I vow not to do this anymore..I guess that means self-tanner all of the way

Re: Spinoff to 'developing a tan'
I do! I'm pretty fair (although I do tan) but I'm very scared of wrinkles and looking older than I am, so I avoid the sun if I can.

' I'm just so afraid of the damage I have done my whole teen years and twenties..I don't want wrinkles either! I already have dark circles around my eyes. So this year I'm being safer than ever

Re: Spinoff to 'developing a tan'
I have maybe tanned one time in my life. I got into a bikini in my back yard (When I was bikini worthy) one day, and that was it. I don't really like to be tan. I also use a moisturizer that has SPF in it everyday and I try to shield my skin as much as possible. People don't realize how bad the suns rays are getting. I don't sun bathe, and if my legs and body are pasty white, so be it.
I actually was burned very badly as a child. I was at the beach for a birthday party, even though the food area was tented, nothing else was and I wound up getting bubbles on my cheeks b/c I was burnt so badly. I , like a dumb kid, peeled it away to where it was red and moist, like a really bad sunburn. Now I have redness all over my face b/c of it. Thanks to Taryn though, I no longer have to live with it. :) Bare Minerals covers it up :) woo hoo
I even use an spf lip balm, and I wear sunglasses whenever I wear my contacts.

I always protect my face with spf 30....the rest of my body i put spf 4, but thats because I feel like it takes forever for my legs to get tan. I burned pretty bad on our HM and don't want that to happen again!

I would definitely start from this point on to do everything you can to safe guard your skin. I think it's never too late, unless you already look like this:
btw...she isn't wearing leather pants lol

Re: Spinoff to 'developing a tan'
I do now I wear suncreen every day on my hands and face (inc lips) and neck. I had extensive sun damage removed this year (sun/brown spots) from my face and chest area and it cost an arm and a leg ($500 each area ) plus it was painful, so I am very careful now not to expose my skin to the sun to avoid having to do it again anytime soon!!! I am also scared of wrinkles and aging and the sun is the biggest wrinkle supplier!!
