spinoff to items you don't use from shower
ok, it made me sad that you girls aren't using some of my favorite kitchen tools! I'm going to try to inspire you to dust them off and give them a try.
Food processor: cucumber salad
2 european cucumbers, washed, and sliced in 1/2 (the long way)
bunch of dill
1/3 cup sour cream
salt
Chop dill in food processor. Switch to slicing blade, and slice cucumbers. transfer to a bowl, and toss in sour cream to coat everything. Chill for a couple hours and add salt right before serving. (clean-up is a snap, just rinse processor parts with water!)
Fondue set: chocolate fondue
strawberries-washed
6 oz good semi-sweet chocolate- broken up
1/3 cup cream
2-3 T liquor.... grand marnier, brandy... whatever you like
put chocolate and cream in ceramic fondue dish. Microwave at 15-30s intervals, stirring inbetween, until melted. Stir in liquor. Transfer to fondue stand and light candle.
Fondue set: cheese fondue
1 baguette, cut into bite sized pieces
1/3 lb gruyerre
1/3 lb swiss
1/3 cup white wine
garlic clove
Chop up cheese into small bits. rub ceramic fondue dish with garlic. Add wine. Put in 1/3 of cheese and microwave 30s. Stir. Repeat with 15-30s microwaving and stirring. As cheese melts, add more cheese. Once everything is melted, transfer to fondue stand, and light candle.
Kichenaid mixer:
this one I'll make you guys look up.... there are so many good cookie and cake recipes. They're a pain when you have to do everything by hand... but they literally take 10 min or less with a mixer!!!
I hope I inspired some of you to dust off your gifts![]()
