SS & DMV How Much? UPDATE!

I got my Marriage Cert this weekend! And I was going to go to SS & DMV today. I was wondering how much do they charge to change the names?

Thanks Lisa!

don't remeber the price but the do take a new pic - so be sure you look extra pretty that day

I DON'T WANT TO TAKE A NEW PICTURE!! I actually look GOOD in my liscense picture!!! (then again it's about 10 years old!! )

I think it was $5 at to change the name on my driver's license.

If you are renewing your license then it is $45 and you can change your name at the same time!

SS free
DMV was $45 but my license was about to expire

Well I am back & officially Mrs! I went to the Garden City DMV & left in 2 minutes. IT WAS MOBBED!!! So, I went to the one in Bethpage on Hempstead Turnpike. I was in & out in 20 min!! I had to retake my photo!!! The guy who took the photo was nice enough to take it a second time because believe me they were HORRIBLE! Mind you second try wasn't great either but I'll deal! I'm old enough not to be proofed so I really don't have to show it to often!! For some reason the computer only charged me $40. And the woman said this is wrong it's $45 for a renewal. She went & asked a manager. And they said just charge here the $ 40! It might just be $5! But as the woman said 'I got one over on the DMV!!!

Congrats!

Congrats on getting one over on the DMV. I had to wait about 45 minutes to get mine. I think it cost $45, too, but I renewed it.

Pic wasn't that great, and I'm stuck with it for 8 years, but oh well.
