Where the heck do I mail it to?? I live in Queens so should I just mail it to the address for the Jamaica SS office?
ETA: I really can't be bothered to go in person since whenever I have off, SS seems to have off too. And I've heard it's pretty easy through the mail... just don't want it to get lost!

I'm glad you asked this. I want to do this too. I was supposed to go yesterday for it but I couldn't because of the snow so I'm going to have to do it through mail. I looked online and you have to mail your original marriage certificate so I NEED to do this now so I can get it done and then do my passport.

If you go on the Social Security website, it tells you all of the documents you need to mail, and they mail all of the originals back anyway. But yeah, just need to confirm where... and when I called a 1-800 number, there were a gazillion prompts and then over a 10 minute wait so I gave up on that.

i did it through the mail... it took about 2 weeks... they mail the originals back certified mail...
