Standard 'Thank You' Card wording...

Does anyone have a really great 'standard' Thank You card wording that you used?

I am about to start writing them and of course I am going to personalize most of them but for those people who I really don't know I just want to use a standard.

Also, anyone have a wording that they used for people who sent a gift but did not come to the wedding?

We did something like 'Thank you so much for your generous wedding present. We are so happy that you were there to celebrate our special day with us. Having you there meant so much to us. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did!'

Then we personalized for people we knew better...HTH

We actually personalized for everyone. . but did this. . obviously not in a list ;)

1. thanks for wedding
2. some thank you about the gift either how it was used or how we were going to use it if it was cash (like we are so excited to put this towards grown-up funiture etc)
3. then something about the relationship of them to us. . even for folks I didn't know that well we added something personal. like for my parents friends I commented on how much I admired their friendships etc (which is true) and hope to have that in my life. .

that said . it took me a LONG time. .but people really liked them.

yeah that;s kinda what we did too...the beginning was somewhat similar but then added on based on our relationships

For most guests that came and gave a gift (except for close family and friends) I wrote:

Dear __________,

Thank you so much for sharing our special day with us and for your generous (or thoughtful) gift. We are so happy that you were there to celebrate the beginning of our new life together. We hope to see you very soon.

love Kirsten and Arnie

For guests who gave gifts but did not come to the wedding I wrote:

Thank you so much for your generous gift. It was so thoughtful of you. We will be thinking of you on our special day. Hope to see you soon.
