sooo...I know we discussed this issue before...what do we think now that the children have been taken away?
I think that as parents it was very irresponsible of them to name their children those names without considering how difficult those childrens lives will be (ie: getting a job, relationships, friends, being picked on or beat up)
HOWEVER...due to freedom rights...i don't think taking the kids away was the best move the govt could have made. If I were them...I would sue...and I think they have a good chance of winning.

ughhh awful names, but its sad to have kids taken away from their parents- the link is blocked and i will read it later- did they physically or psychologically harm the kids- or is it the names?

I totally agree with you. The article doesn't state WHY they removed the kids from the home but I am sure we can all speculate. Completely ridiculous!!!

I just saw this on the news, apparently the children were taken away because of domestic abuse in the household between the parents. Police called is an 'unsafe environment'. I am sure the kids names had nothing to do with it, but naming your children such offensive names is a little crazy.

Here's a question: if the kids are named that way, don't you think they live in a hateful environment? They say they aren't nazis or white supremicists or whatever, but COME ON. Is it appropriate for children to be raised in such an environment? Is that proper parenting? At what point does the state say no, it's not, and that the kids deserve better? That they deserve to be raised in a loving, non-judgmental environment, one that encourages them to be loving, non-judgemental adults?
Or did the state just do that?
I'm in a thoughtful mood tonight.

I agree, I work with kids and I see this sort of stuff all the time, not the same names, but parents promoting hate. I don't understand it. I think there was probably a lot of stuff going on in the home. Neighbors said they parents were always fighting. I hope the kids are placed in a positive environment.

Thanks for raising these questions because I really think it is valid. These are my answers not that they mean anything but we had a discussion based on some of these at works and it got me into thinking.

Yes i do and i think it is a sick thing but does the state has the say to take those children away? No not with just raising your kids based on hate - because then there should be a ton of kids taken away from families that would meet the requirement.

No it is not proper parenting but I had a teacher in college that hated white people and was a islamic ratical but I learned from him to accept who I am and my heritage but not to take it so far that only hate controls me like it did for him. Molding children to hate is ugly business. Do I think they are bad parents, yes but do i think the state should be allowed to take them on that one thing - no. But if the parents were cruel the kids by beating, verbal abuse (outside of hateful teaching), denied them education, food etc then the state has every right to take those kids away.
My question was if they were home schooled - to me this is where problems like this reside. I realize not all home schooling is evil and there are times where it makes sense for the child but I think overall that it gives a child a singular prospective on teaching/interactions that is based on a parent which doesn't work out favorably for a child in the end. But this is my opinion and a different topic.

Yeah there is no reason for kids to be taken away just for their names, it definitely was something else going on.

Re: state takes custody of nazi named children
if there was domestic violence in the home...then sure...take the kids. or here's a better suggestion... WHY DON'T WE START GIVING THERAPY AND COUNSELING TO TEACH THESE PEOPLE HOW TO FUNCTION AS PARENTS BETTER!!! taking children out of their home just so they can go through the ****** *** foster care and adoption system and possibly be put to face further dysfunction is not the answer.
but do you know how many ignorant people are out there having babies? are we really going to take them ALL away? or are we just going to do it this once because we don't appreciate their name choices? are we going to take a baby away from a black couple that teaches its babies that white people are the devil? or is that not as bad? this is not the first case of a child being born into stupidity and ignorant environments and it won't be the last. which only leads me to believe it was the attention over the childs names that put this case over the edge enough for them to take the children. shoot...my parents fought all the time...nobody took us away.
