We ordered our LR & DR furniture on Sat so we have to get moving on this stuff. I am thinking about trying the glazing in green / yellow tones. What do you think?

The walls - Have you tried any of these finishes? I love the look of the glaze. I may not do it all over just on a few walls. This is all new for me. I have always stayed with the slightly tinted off whites. I will definately have to do some practice pieces.

Re: Step by Step Faux Finish Web Site
We just did a faux finish in one of the rooms in our house. It came out awesome!! We used a deep blue for the base color, then sponged on a lighter blue. We are capping the ceiling with a white crown molding and using a white wainscotting on the lower half with a chair rail. We were aiming for a very country look. We're getting there!!
P.S. I'll see if I can post some pictures later tonight!

I did a seude paint technique in our master bedroom and I love it. I think faux finishes look really great. I say Go For It.

Thanks Fran ... this is really helpful ... I'm still trying to figure out my color scheme, and I find it hard. I like 'warm' colors, but am afraid that it will make the room look smaller! I definitely want sponging for our kitchen ... thanks again!!
