Still struggling with my video...

Still struggling with my video...

Married almost 9 months and still no video...
It is partially my fault. I cannot decide if I want a photo montage to be part of our video (ex. baby pics, dating pics etc...) The photo montage is not really my videographers style, so I dont know if it will go with the flow of my video if I add pics. Any advice?

Did you all have pics in your video?

We didn't do the photo montage....I wanted it done quickly and knew that would really delay things. I left the flow of the video up to Peter and was glad I did....once I received it we were really happy with it!

We didn't bother with the photo montages. I would never look to the video to look at them anyways.

We love our photo montage. I didn't think I'd care too much either way, but in the end I'm really glad we did it. They are just great pictures that represent some pretty great (or funny) moments in our life.

I'm with you Christy, I'm so confused what to do with my video as well.

Sorry I know I'm not helping!

We love our photo montage (and trust me, I pretty much hate everything about the traditional video style but this is one thing I didnt mind keeping). Its at the end of the DVD so it doesnt interupt the flow at all. Its done really simply with photos and music and its a big hit with us and everyone that sees it.

Edited to add: we did baby photos, photos from our 6 years together and honeymoon photos. Its entertaining now but Im sure it will be even more fun when we are old and ugly

The photo montages my favorite part of my video - so glad I did it to. At first I thought it may be cheesey but it is so nice and they make it flow nicely. A lot of people tear up just from that!! My video starts with the montage of us growing up and dating and then goes into the wedding. It end swith some wedding highlights and honeymoon montages. Love it. I have a 10 minutes company copy that just has the highlight and montages and I think it is great!

Yea..you just reminded me that when we show people the video, I usually just show them the recap, the baby photo and honeymoon montage.

We took a while to do the pictures for our video too. Since we were together for a while before we were married and both in our 30's, we decided to not do the baby pictures, etc. Instead, at the end of the video, we put a bunch of picture through the years from when we first met, etc and ending with a picture of us on our honeymoon. We had no pictures in the beginning of the video.

I love the photo montage on mine so I would do it....Yes, it is traditional but IMO, it is a great way to start a wedding video. Sometimes tradition becomes tradition because it works.

Another thought-- My parents especially LOVE that part- the baby pictures and the growing up ones. It is sentimental for them I suppose so you may want to do it for that reason. If you get a chapterized DVD, you dont have to watch that segment every time you watch the video so its not like its compromising the feel of the video....

We did the photo montage too. We wanted our video to tell a story. It started with our baby pictures and showed our dating pictures. I would do it.
