Stimulus Q

Last two SSN digits: Payments will be transmitted no later than:
00 through 20 May 2
21 through 75 May 9
76 through 99 May 16

According to this....DH and I were both supossed to get our refunds no later than Friday. But only mine was deposited. Did anyone else have this problem??

I've heard that they are behind

I got mine last week, but I am saving it. They want us to pump it into the economy, but I hit my savings for the wedding. I need to start rebuliding it.

did you both file the same way? i just found out that if you had your filing fees deducted from your federal refund then your stimulus check will be mailed to you instead of direct deposit

I heard that too .Here is what i found one the IRS's website:

I chose direct deposit for my 2007 tax refund but also requested a refund anticipation loan (RAL) from my preparer. How does that affect my stimulus payment?

A. Taxpayers who use Refund Anticipation Loans (RALs) or enter into any other loans or financial agreements with a tax professional, such as agreeing to have return preparation fees deducted from their refunds, cannot receive their stimulus payments by direct deposit and instead will get paper checks based on the paper check distribution schedule.


ETA: This also includes Turbo Tax and other software in which you also deducted the fee from your refund. I am so glad I did not deduct the fee and paid separately.

They want us to spend the money yet it is getting to be a joke to even get the money.

Gas hits $4 per gallon for 87 octane and we are supposed to spend this stimulus check to stimulate the economy. Never mind the fact that we will be taxed on anyway because it is considered to be income.

hmmnn, tough choice, fill my car with gas or buy groceries for the week. Winds up costing the same.

Isn't that ridiculous?? Both local gas stations by me are over $4.05 a gallon.

I was in Rye, NY on Saturday and the regular gas was $4.15 a gallon!!!!!

we're also very confused about this; we already got some money from the stimulus by direct deposit. We filed electronically so it went right into my checking account. We filed a joint account, here's the question:

do we both get money (meaning will we get another deposit) or is the money that came in for both of us??

DH and I filed seperately. He claimed our son because he ended up getting more so the deductions came from him....so if the deductions came from one of u and not the other maybe thats why

my mom called her accountant and said its one deposit when direct deposited and a joint filing.
