Stuff

Stuff

My husband makes me laugh. We are in the dreaded process of moving from a big apartment to a much smaller apartment (not by choice). We have three bedrooms now, one acts as a storage room plus we have a lot of closet space.

So for the past few days we have been going thru our stuff trying to throw things out and what we don't throw out we are storing at my mom's. Granted I have a lot of STUFF (I'm very sentimental, actually I little bit of a pack rat). However, I can not tell you how many tools and how much computer equipment he has. You really would not believe it if you saw it.

The thing about him that makes me laugh (and I am being sarcastic here) is not when he complains about the things that are truly mine but when he considers common household things mine - china, crystal, picture frames, any type of home decor or appliances.

So the point of my post is how many of your husbands do this? How many considered all household objects YOURS and not OURS?

Oh no I beleive you my DH is the same as yours!!!

Mine is a pack rat in the sense of pc stuff, magazines, t shirts and musical equipment!

He considers china & things ours though.

Girl, when Roger doesn't want to clean, move or pack something, it automatically becomes mine or garbage

Jenn - I still have cheesey rock tapes from the 80's I can't part with!!! I use to be bad with magazines but have gotten much better. I went thru a box of old letters and I had cards and notes from grammar school days. I kept some and got rid of some - they make me smile when I read thru them : )

Shamma - that's what Joe does. His stuff he organizes and puts to the side. If it is something he has no use for he throws it out. It is quite commical to see me going thru the garbage after every little thing he throws out.

Yes! I agree with Shamma, when Gary doesn't want to touch something it must be MINE!

Oh and the best was that we have an attic with storage space and Gary is always yelling at me that there is no more room up there (we have Christmas stuff there, yearbooks, pictures, etc.) and I go through some of the boxes and I find his box with some junk mail, gum, and breath mints!! I was like ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This is what is in here? When he moved out he said that he just cleared off a desk of a sitting area into a box...MEN!!!

Re: Stuff

Joe's mother always gives us little trinkets. I love her but some of the stuff is REALLY junky. When I tried to throw it out he was like 'How can you throw that out, my mother gave it to you?' Meanwhile, he'll tell me to get rid of a $100 Lenox vase.
