Stupid question about name change and traveling...

Stupid question about name change and traveling...
Ok so I haven't officially changed my name yet, but want to do it sorta soon. However, we are booking flights for June - I put in my maiden name since I figure what if I DON'T change it before we travel, and even if I do, I'll still have my old license with my maiden name, right?
So I should book under my maiden name - yes? No? Suggestions?

Just book ti udner whichever name. it doesn't matter because you can bring your amrriage certificate 9an extra copy) with you and ID for whatever name you book under. Thats what we did for something-forget what. the bank?
Anywya its fine-Marriage certificate and ID of your maiden name would work.

I just did this. We had a wedding in florida this weekend and booked the tickets shortly after we got married. I thought I would've changed my name by now (I didn't), but to be on the safe side I booked it under my maiden and new last name. (like hypenated, but w/o the hypen). I gave them my license with my maiden name and no one gave me a hard time.

So if I book under my maiden name, that should be ok??? Like if I book under my maiden, then next week go change my name, I will still have my ID with my maiden name which I can show at the airport, right?
LOL, I'm stressing right now for some strange reason. Maybe it's cuz the airlines are so big on 'NO NAME CHANGES ONCE TICKETED' lol.

Yeah, as long as you have your ID with your maiden name you'll be fine. A friend of mine, who did change her name, realized the night before a recent trip that she accidentally booked under her maiden name (using info saved to the website). She just brought the old ID with her and it was fine.

honestly---i would make sure the flight is booked in whatever name your license will be in. (its a domestic flight right?)
our TA told us that some airlines can be big PITA with the name on the ticket vs. the name on your id

Oh yeah for sure it will be an issue if the names don't match - but you keep your old license when you change your name right? So I would have my old ID with my maiden and my new ID with my married and can show whichever one I booked under, right?

see i was able to keep my license when i changed my name---BUT i know a friend who went and they took her old one! so i think it can depend on the person you deal with at the DMV!

Ahhhh ok. Hmmmm, well I guess I could change my name on my license but wait to change my passport so I could use my passport as ID. I think that works!

yeah--totally use your passport then! didn't even think of that.
my maiden name is on my passport so for international travel--i book in my maiden name but for domestic flights i book in my married.
