Yep. But we got our proofs QUick. Etiquette says that two weeks after your honeymoon, all your thank yous for the people that gave you agift at the wedding, should be out. You have a 1-3 month grace period. people who give you gifts after the wedding, get their ty's as you get the gifts.

This is for the traditional thanks you's NOT the photo ones. I mean people know that proofs take awhile so if you send photo thank you's, the etiquette pretty much goes out the window. And GUESTS have a year to send a gift so that means if they take a year to send a gift, you can only send the ty when you GET the gift..unless you want to send a 'thanks for coming.' card.

i made sure mine were out by the 3 month mark. it was hard to do. and people even commented to me on how quickly i got my cards out. go figure.

Its diff for photo cards if you're doing those cause you cant send em till you get them. But yea the fancy people give only up 2 3 months but thats for the traditional plain ty cards.
A friend of the family is the ULTIMATE Miss Manners-went to finishing school and everything so she's the one who taught me about the etiquette for thank you's. For regular thank you cards like birthday/xmas gifts etc, you send them out immediately after recieving the gift. But very few people actually know the etiquette anymore so I would not stress about it.

We did. I had them done in a month or so, just wanted to get it over with. We didn't do picture thank-yous though, just nice linen paper cards with our names on them.
