SUNDAY 1/10 NWQOTD!!!

Thank you to the lovely Springsandra for making me NWOTW this week! I hope I can come up with some great questions for you girls!

For my first question ...

What is one thing that you're good at? Maybe it's a talent or a part of your personality. Come on ... don't be shy!

For me, I am very good at the violin. I grew up playing it and was a semi accomplished violinist through college. After college I taught on the side, but I haven't in a few years because I had too many other things going on. In fact, once DH and I have kids, I would love to be a stay at home mom and teach kids violin and viola out of the house. That's sort of my career aspiration.

Oh Marissa, how cool! I played the violin in junior high and I loved it but I never stuck with it.

For me, I think it's baking/cooking/entertaining. I love to be in the kitchen and I think I'm pretty good at it!

That is so cool about the violin!!! No wonder you're such a music snob!!!

As for me... I guess I'm good at word games. Like you put a stack of scrabble letters in front of me and I can twist them around very quickly in my head. I think I'm fabulous at scrabble... seems like a goofy thing to say.

Personality-wise, I feel like I'm very straight forward. It can sometimes be a curse but in general I think it's a good part of my personality. Oh, and I'm a Mets fan, die-hard. I love that about me. Despite the heartache it causes sometimes.

I am good at organization and planning... I missed my calling in life, I should have been a cruise director, or at least thats what all my friends tell me.

Believe it or not - I'm extremely handy around the house. I can basically fix anything. It makes DH crazy because I think it hurts his male ego, but I'm just really good at that kind of stuff.

i think i'm a very creative person. i guess i don't mention it much to anyone, or even think it out loud, but that's something i really like about me. you can put me in a situation and i'll be able to fix it, make it better, or do something to help complete a project or find a solution. that has to do with my LOVE of logic/mind puzzles... so i guess i just sort of like to be the 'thinker' :o)

that and i'm pretty good at cooking/baking and i LOVE photography and secretly hope to someday do something with some of my photographs. maybe a travel book?

now i feel conceited!

ps i've ALWAYS wanted to play the cello, ever since i took violin lessons in 6th grade! :o)

it's funny - it does feel like bragging to do this. .

um. . I am good at writing , but the creative kind, especially humorously not so much papers or academic writing

and cooking creatively - like if you have 5 ingredients I can make something up

and scrabble too. . I love scrabble!!

I used to play the violin too! I havent touched it in years though! I played the violin, piano, flute & clarinet.. and I s*cked equally at all of them

I think I am good at:

Cooking - always just had a natural talent..i get it from my grandpa..but I hate baking.. im trying to get into it more recently.

A hobby of mine is photography and I would like to think I am good at it!

I am very good at my job.. but my job is boring so who cares

I am good at soccer (well I was the last time i played a few years ago)

Im good at guitar hero

Good at baking & entertaining,

Good at decorating for holidays, birthdays, superbowl parties, etc...

Good at singing. I sang the National Anthem for a NY lsles game at the Nassau Colisseum back in 2000 or 2001. This had been a dream of mine to do since I was 6 years old. I also sang the National Anthem for the opening ceremonies for the 1st Relay for Life in Suffolk County back in 2001 (it was held at Rocky Point Schools). That meant so much to me to do that for something so important.

I'd like to think I'm good at loving & taking care of DH - otherwise he never would have asked me to marry him!

Personality wise - I like to think Im good at telling jokes - (I love to make people laugh), and also with trying to make people know how special they are.

I am a pretty creative person...I love planning and coming up with ideas for everything!!!! I am an engineer so my creativity does not really get used all that much but when there is a task that needs it I am so there!!!! I also love planning all the vacations we take...my calling would be a travel food writer!!!!!!!!!!!

I know a lot of girls don't like to toot their own horns so I tried to encourage them to do so with this post! It can never hurt to acknowledge your strengths and talents!

I am really good with music. Like, If I hear a song once, I'll know all the words the next time I hear it. I also can tell you what song it is from like the first 3 beats and who sings it.

I am also really good at sleeping and being lazy, LOL.
