So what do we have planned for this years superbowl???
I am not the biggest fan of football, I just don't have time to watch it , but when I do get to sit and watch it , I will.
I do happen to love the superbowl though. I don't know what it is about it , I just love watching it every year.
Is anyone doing anything special?? cooking or baking anything special??
DH asked me to make football cupcakes, and I am going to make my own guacamole, and put it in my layered dip that I make every year. :) I am trying to find some more ideas.

usually we throw a party but this year we got invited to one, so at least we don't have to buy all that food.
When we did our party last year we got a 3 ft hero (it was a small party), and I made my own guacamole too. We also had the usual stuff like chips and salsa, little hot dog & puff pastry appetizers.
I don't enjoy football at all but I like the commercials during the superbowl, and pigging out makes the time pass too.

FIL is having a party here as usual. He always has people over to watch Sunday games too. Should be fun.

when IS the superbowl? Is it this weekend?? DH told me that we're going to our friends house on Saturday to watch the game, but I thought the superbowl is usually on Sundays. Hm. I guess I'm not sure yet what we're doing. We're sooo not into it this year since the Broncos didn't make it What a bummer.

We'll prob. just watch it in our apt (just us) or maybe go to my moms like we did last year.
If we go to his friends house with the big tv, we'll never get to watch anything. People constantly coming and going, his friend will change the channel, etc. DH hates that.

Ummm...so I'm not a football fan at all and I just asked my coworker when this year's superbowl even is......and it's on MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! GRR!!
Thankfully DH isn't into football either, but JEESH...it's MY DAY!

oh do you have a good guacamole reciepe??I would love if you could share it. I tried it on the honeymoon and i loveddd it.

Last year we went to DH's cousin's bar where they had a big party. Every year FIL's friend's take turns hosting a party and this year it's their turn so we'll be at their house.

I hope we can have our apartment finished by that time so we can have our first get together there with our friends. So with that being said hopefully it's at our apt. this year
I don't really enjoy football but with 3 brothers who have played it their whole lives and 1 who is going to college for it I always HAVE to watch it but I do enjoy the commericals and pigging out

We might be doing a party.... but we are on the fence about it. We are the same way, neither one of us are foootball fans, but for some reason we always go to superbowl parties... i think it is more b/c of the party

not sure, DH will probably want to have a big party but its such a hassle in our apartment - between our dog and the smallness of our living room/kitchen its not the best place for entertaining.....plus we just got a lot of nice new things in our apartment and the thought of people spilling stuff or making a mess freaks me out i think i rather go to a bar this year....or do what we did last year and just have another couple or two come over

I do have an awesome recipe for guacamole from an amazing food blog that I read.
The recipe calls for 16 avocados, but I usually make it with about 4-6. I keep everything else the same and it comes out delicious!
16 (yes 16) ripe avocados
1 small yellow onion, diced fine, very fine
2 tomatoes on the vine, seeded and diced fine, very fine
small handful of of cilantro, chopped
juice of 1 lime, maybe 1 1/2 limes
salt and pepper to taste.
Peel and pit the avocados and throw them in a large bowl. Add the diced onion, tomato and cilantro. Stir and mash. Add the lime, salt and pepper. Stir. Taste and add more seasoning, lime and cilantro as needed.

We usually go out and party it up, not this year. Joe isn't into watching it this year, so he says now. I wouldn't mind going out to watch it or not at all for that matter. We might go to a friends house if we don't than we might actually go to the movies!
