I went to college near Syracuse for 2 years. A friend of mine lived in Onondaga which is right outside of Syracuse. From what I remember he lived in a nice neighborhood.
Like any city, it has some good and bad parts. You'd have to talk with a REA to find out for sure. You can get a home for super cheap, that's for sure!

Re: Syracuse?
I went to school at SUNY Cortland and we often went up to Syracuse to the mall and stuff. I know there are some good and bad areas, like any town, really. The mall there is SUPER nice! I have also flown out of the Syracuse airport which is small (compared to JFK or LGA) but nice. I know I prob didn't help much but at least you know there's a nice mall LMAO!

Re: Syracuse?
I lived in Syracuse for 6 years. What exactly do you want to know? Are you looking to move there?

Re: Syracuse?
I went to grad school there for a year. It was cold and windy and it snowed all the time. Plus the city itself is a little dangerous, even near the school. I finally left when I read that a security guard got robbed of his wallet at 5pm at night near campus. I'll be having none of that!
But they do have Dinosaur Barbeque, Wegmans, and there's a little divey looking sandwich shop about a block from school that sells the best BLT wrap ever.

Love Wegmans and Dinosaur BBQ. There's a state park called Green Lake if I remember correctly. It's beautiful there and the lake is crystal clear. They even have an artificial beach. Although I don't like how the city is run. Everything is so a$$ backwards. My dog ran away once and was caught by the pound. I have to go to traffic court to get her back. They said it's equivalent to running a stop sign. So I plea bargained and payed a fee Don't get that at all Oh yeah, and Syracuse doesn't have an SPCA. That means they keep stray dogs for 5 days and if no one adopts them, they put them to sleep because private vets do not get funding from the state.
