Tag Sales???

Tag Sales???

Since I really won't have money to buy 'new' furniture I've been considering trying tag sales. Has anyone bought any furniture at one? I was thinking of trying to find a dining room set this way. I have known people who had beautiful stuff but wanted to sell it b/c they wanted a new look - I wish I had needed a dining room set at that time...
just curious if anyone has done this?

Tag Sales???

Oh Junebride! I wish I had known last week you were looking for a dining room set! My grandmother decided to move into a health care home permanently, and last week we cleaned out her apartment. No one we knew wanted her 2 year old BEAUTIFUL dining room, so we gave it to the salvation army. GRRR! I wish I could have offered it to you.

Tag Sales???

Read the Pennysaver!! You might find something there. We went to Macy's furniture clearance center yesterday to *look* for a couch for our family room in the basement and they had alot of tables...just an idea to compare.

You have some time to look, though which is good! Our problem would be w/ storage! We already have 1/2 of my mother's garage, part of her basement and a huge pile of shower gifts in one of her spare bedrooms! YIKES. Our closing date can't come fast enough!

Re: Tag Sales???

My husband and I are moving out of state and we'll be selling most of our furniture, including a very beautiful mahogany dinning room set. I would love to take it with us, but we are moving from a house AND an apartment in the city to a one bedroom apartment, and we will not have the space.

If anyone is interested in any kind of furniture (beds, couches, tables, treadmill, etc.), please feel free to e-mail me ([email protected]).

We are thinking of having a tag sale/garage sale in the next two weeks and/or donating them.

Thanks!

Once the tag sales are over and you still have things to get rid of/Donate-- please let me know --I work for Covenant House--it is a homeless shelter for kids under 21 and we help to get them jobs and set them up in apartments-- we are always looking for donations so that they can have a bed, kitchen table, appliances, dishes, etc--so anything you cant get rid of would really benefit a 20 year old who has to make it on their own--

I don't have anything to donate right now, but if and when I do, I will keep you in mind. It sounds like you work for a wonderful place!
