Taking Up Smoking Again!
Girls I have to ask.... Maybe I'm not in the norm here but was anyone else happy to go back to regular life after the wedding and not have to sweat, not have to stress, not have to fight anymore and not have to plan??? I know there was a post recently about post wedding blues but there must have been people out there who were happy to go back to relaxing with a glass of wine at 7pm without having to run to all these different vendors, control people, places and things and fret over every detail. I feel like I am studying for an exam on September 20 and then, it's like 'pencils down' and if you made any mistakes, you can just relax because there is nothing you could do about it now! I'm smoking again, not sleeping, and breaking out like a banchee! Planning a wedding sure is fun! LOL!

Re: Taking Up Smoking Again!
You are in the final stretch there. I like your pencils down analogy. I am sorry you are not sleeping and that you are smoking again (I did the same thing).I hope there's comfort in the fact that it's all worth it - when you wake up on your wedding day all you will think about is marrying your wonderful fiance and ending the day married to the love of your life

Marisa, yep, I am one of the happy ones to get my life back to normal... Hang in there, its all worth it, but its probably the last major project in your life like this...

Put the cigarette's down. Honestly you are starting a new life with your husband, why shorten it with every single puff?Planning a wedding is not fun. It can be, but mostly it is full of a lot of stress, even the fun stuff becomes stressful.
You need to take a day or two off from planning and go see a movie, hang-out and don't talk weddings- stuff like that. That helped me a few times.

The worst is now .. the final couple of months. I couldn't stand the arguments with DH over little stuff. I didn't experience much of the blues. Believe me, even though now it may not seem like it, your day will be great!

I felt the same way towards the end - I was more stressed than anything. I knew how much more I'd enjoy my HM at least
Try not to stress, but it's easier said than done, and if you are serious about quitting smoking, do it AFTER the wedding. There's way too much stress now to quit before the big day.

Re: Taking Up Smoking Again!
I quit smoking several years ago and am very happy I did because it is a terrible habit.... however I must admit I did sneak a few smokes before the wedding (as the date approached). Wedding planning is VERY stressful - and if you are a former smoker - it is definitely a trigger to start again......I know there are many vehement anti-smokers on this board but if you never smoked, you just dont understand the temptation. So- if you must smoke, then do it and dont feel guilty. But, please try to quit after the wedding is over.I also had bouts of not sleeping too - so much running through my head. It's totally normal!

Re: Taking Up Smoking Again!
I guess since we were planning long distance, our lives never got taken over by the planning. Only on hectic trips to NY did we have to worry about meeting with vendors and running around. We still had our nights and weekends free to do what we always did.So I never got too stressed, and our life wasn't so impacted by the process. Guess thats why I really enjoyed it, and missed the planning when it was over.
But you're almost there! Hang in there - have that glass of wine (and put down the cigarettes)
