tattoo question

i was wondering if you guys with tattoos can give me an approximation of how much a tattoo will cost me and where u got yours?? about 4 to 5 inches with color..thanks
i really want one ..=)

Re: tattoo question

it really depends on the size, the design, and how long it will take. 4 of my 5 tattoos are pretty small, and were a flat price. my big tattoo took about 8-9 hours to complete (over 3 sittings), and for that one i was charged by the hour.

my last two which are my faves i got at kings avenue tattoo in N. massapequa. if you have a design you already want, and if it's only 4-5 inches, it's worth it to walk in and price it, since they'd probably charge a flat rate for something small.

Agreed, It depends on the size and how much detail, how long it will take. I know most places have a minimum of $50. If it's something that isn't too complicated, it may cost you from $50 - $150.

I only go to one guy out in Williamsburg Queens. He has been in Juxtapoz magazine and other tatoo books. I only trust him with my skin! lol

Re: tattoo question

I have 2. One behind my neck (chinese Pisces symbol with hearts) I think was about $80.00 and took less than an hour.

The one on my lower back is about 4-5 inches wide and is sunflowers with hearts on the petals. That cost about $150. I think.

They were done so long ago that I don't remember. They were done in Huntington on New York Avenue in the Village.

It really depends on how long it takes. My tattoo artist charges $150 an hour. She's on Ditmars in Astoria. The best!

wait which one did you go to, the girl on 37th street and ditmars? the tattoo artist who has no tattoo's herself lol. DH got one tattoo from her, she did an awesome job, she is real good. The tattoo he got from her was about $250-275 but his was pretty big, its his whole bicep but the underneath part

Hmmmm it depends, mine is maybe 9 inches or so, maybe bigger i measured it once but forgot now, for some reason im think 9 inches x 14 inches. It was $300

some places have a minimum price.... like the cheapest they will run you is $70 no matter how small... even if its just a dot lol

i've gotten 3 out of my 4 tattoos at Da Vinci tattoo in wantagh on sunrise hwy... chris koutsis is AMAZING!!! ray alfano has also tatted me - everyone is very good there, but those are my top 2!

the 4th tat i got at tattoo lous in lindenhurst.... it was SO long ago i have no idea who did it, but it came out great!!

good luck!!

Like the girls said, it depends on the artist and how detailed the tattoo is. I have one on my back that is tribal with a shamrock in the middle and it ran me about $175

Good luck and have fun (they are addictive!)

Re: tattoo question

honestly it REALLY depends on the detail of the piece and where u go. I found awesome prices and RIDICULOUS talent(the artists are amazing! Pepe and Greg are my favorite but they're all great) at 'The Tattoo Shop' out on 112 in medford. their shop minimum is only $40 where most is $60....i would say for a 5inch tattoo in color at a typical shop u should expect to pay at LEAST a $100 ??? just throwin' something out there. if u have an actual design of what u want u can probably walk in and ask what they'd charge for it.

Re: tattoo question

ps: this was my last tattoo that Pepe did... i walked in with a stick figure scetch lol and this is what he turned it into! HE IS AMAZING! the dh is going back for a portrait in march for his bday.. i dont know where u're located, but far away or not he's definetly worth it!
