Tax Question

Filling out the W4 for my new job tomorrow- DH won't be filing taxes this year (he's a student)

How much do I claim?

Can I claim him as a dependent?

Should we file together?

I don't have an accountant- I was going to maybe stop by HR&Block tomorrow and see if they can help me.

it's ok if you mess up on the w4, since it all gets corrected at tax time... however, if he's a dependent on your tax return, and you don't claim him now, the gov't will be witholding a lot of $$ until april 15th....

I'd claim him as a dependent, and just make sure your taxes are done early in the year, so you have time to save any extra $$ for the tax bill, if it turns out he isn't a real dependent by any freak chance...
