i have a website through Teacher pages... my district subscribes so we can all create websites that are then posted ia the district server. i love it and so easy to use... you don't need to know HTML or anything. . .
in my district you must have parental consent to post any photo of their child. we get parental permission (or not ) at the beginning of the year and then we're good to go. I also only post their first name if i am mentioning names or student work, never their last name.

i haven't used e-chalk, but do recommend that you investigate your district's policies re: posting children's pictures online. they should have a pre-established policy and consent form for parents.

I believe it was a form that someone in the main office created. Basically told parents that teachers have websites and do they give consent or not for their child's work and/or photographs to be on the website, first name only.
i believe that it was sent home over the summer with the teacher and supply list. those parents that didn't return it before school signed it with a bunch of other stuff at back to school night so we were sure to get most of them back.
our computer teacher compiled a list with all the NOs and distributed that to ALL the teachers so that we would know who couldn't go on the website, which is helpful if you're doing grade level activities and you're not sure who is allowed and who's not.
