Teachers: Which magazine do you like to order for your class?

I have used Scholastic News, but I was thinking of ordering Time for Kids.

Anyone ever used Time for Kids?

Thanks

I think it's good to be unique. Look at my name...Jennifer. How many people do you know with that name. I bet you can name a million--LOL

I love TFK!

you can check out some of their issues online and see if you think they'd be good. they have ideas for the teacher, worksheets, etc.

I've used both, and I would say they are equally as good. Both have activities on the back page, and it's pretty easy to come up with other activities like anticipation guides depending on the subject. So i'd say your good with whatever you choose!

my co-teacher used to work and write for TFK, so she's a big fan, but I LOVE IT! great articles and the resources on the web for teachers are awesome! so many great hand outs oyu can print out to go along with the issue or alone.

I ordered Weekly Reader this year for 5th grade. I know the teacher last year used Times for Kids and said it was a bit out of date when he got it and was even babyish for 5th grade.

I just got a trial offer of Weekly Reader and it has some really great things! There was poetry, a play, and a writing spotlight. I think it is great!
TFK is good also, but you could always get that online.

they are different editions depending on grade level.

they have a K-1, a 2-3 and a 4-6.

I teach 3rd and have ordered TFK in the past, but this year my grade level decided that Scholastic News was giving more coverage to the presidential election, so we decided to go with SN instead this year
