Re: Tell me again how tacky it is ...
I think it is, but that's just MO. I wanted to take the extra steps writing our my TYs, since we were so appreciative of our guest's generosity.
Edited to add: I hand wrote all my TYs out and finished in only a few days - I focused on a few a night until they were all done!

I would rather print right on the envelope, then on a label. Don't know why I think it makes a difference, but I do.
We hand wrote all our thank you addresses/notes. Same as Teri - we focused on 10-15 a night and got them out in just a few weeks. And recruit your husband - he should be writing them too

Don't think about writing ALL ofhem out - it's too overwhelming. Just concentrate on like 15 a night - that's not soo bad.
I got into a routine and started saying a few different types of TYs depending on our relationship....so it wasn't like every card I was wondering what to write. I always preferred getting hand written notes vs unpersonalized cards, so I kept that in mind when sending mine out.
Good luck, and remember to take breaks for your writing hand!!!

I was feeling the same way you were but its worth takeing a few minutes to run them thru the printer. No point doing all that work on making the wedding stuff just so just to make the last impression not quite as good :D

Call it tacky but I did mine on clear labels without batting an eye - I never new that was in bad taste. People actually recommended it to me and I have rec'd many that way. For invites - Iwould never because I consider them formal - for thanks you and things like that - do what is easier. JMO

THis is what I'm doing Helen.
In the front, I'm printing the addresses on the envelopes. For the return address in teh back, I'm using a clear label.

Honestly I dont think it is that tacky, for invitations yes, but for TYs most people dont notice the little details on those as much as we like to think. Just recent brides and brides to be most likely. After the wedding, people just want a thank you and then most toss it in the garbage anyway so why go crazy nuts over the envelope? JMO

I actually just saw some cute little bride groom stickers and I was gonna order them since we have a new address, I plan on using them on my thank yous I dont think it is tacky at all, it isnt a wedding invite, I have to disagree, its fine. who notices anyway and you will add your personal hand written message on the inside, now that preprinted would be tacky LOL
