So its really starting to bother me how DH never takes my opinions...but swears by everything his mother says for example...
when we first started looking for houses i became obsessed with HGTV...watched it all day all night whenever the tv was on that was what i was watching...DH would always make fun of me cuz of my obsession, and i would always tell him he should watch it cuz i know he would like the show holmes on homes. Never listened...
his mom tells him about the show, and told him to watch it....holmes on homes is is new fav show!! everytime its on hes like oh i love this show!
Really!??!
then my MIL took us to sears to buy our patio furniture set for us as a house warming present, and while we were there we were looking at grills his mom was looking a gril that was gas, and charcoal in the same grill and how she loves that and wants one. We got a card in the mail a few days later from all my aunts, uncles and cousins on my dads side with a check to buy a bbq grill for us as a housewarming present from them, so we went shopping...and guess what he wants! a bbq that has gas and charcoal combined!!! but i dont like that one cuz its ugly! lol luckily i got my way and we got a fab gas grill! but im not saying i dont like that he listens to his mothers opinions, but i do not like how he does not listen to mine like he should!!!! cuz im always right! HAHAHA! but seriously! (i am)

It would absolutely annoy me - DH does that to me sometimes too and then usually corrects himself after I give him the 'look' or tell him that he should then go live with his mother and father

That totally DOES annoy me, bc DH does the same exact thing – except with his best friend, not his mom!
The only example I can think of right now (and tease him about all the time) is that for years I tried to get him to eat French Onion soup, bc I knew he’d really like it. He was always like no, no, no. So one day we were out to eat with all of our friends, and his friend got it and was talking about how great it was – so DH turns to me and is like, “Oh, let me try yours.” I was like I’ve told you 458345 times that you’d like this, and Brian says it ONCE and you’re all for it!
It’s very annoying, I think I’d be even more annoyed if it was his mom.

I think we need to have an LIW garage sale - everyone can contribute a bad gift they received.
The sad part is that DH is just happy his parents remembered his bday - how awful is that!!!

It would annoy the crap out of me! But on a separate note...DH and I LOVE Holmes on Homes! We always say we're going to play a drinking game while watching it - how many times can one man say 'spray foam' and 'keep smiling' in one hour?

Well, DH is like this too...not just his mother though, he's very needy of other people's input or opinions, as long as they're NOT mine. I can say something until I'm blue in the face, and DH just won't listen until someone else corroborates it. It's so annoying.
