Re: Teri and other Hofstra Alum..
Nah I didn't update. I try to avoid the Alumni Assoc. as much as I can b/c each time I hear something from them they are asking for $ (and I don't have any to give!).
I was upset at the end of the conversation...the guy said to me (after I told him I didn't want to order the directory) you don't want to network with other people in your area?
I just thought it was so salesman like...and not caring about my info...
whatever...

I just don't want to encourage them. I keep in touch with those from school who I want to. I had a graduate assistantship in the Career Center (the building next to the Alumni Assoc.) and the Alumni people were always talking about raising money. I do have some great memories of Hofstra though!

I'm probably the only dork that purchased the hardcover. Hopefully I'll have it by November with my new name. (That's the main reason why I got it...to see my married name in print. )

I did - since it was free He asked a TON of questions, and I gave out my hotmail address, but not phone #. Then he asked if I wanted to buy the directory, when I said no thanks - he pushed once and that was it. I told him I keep in touch with everyone I want to already
Long story short, I was most friendly with DH's fraternity bros anyway, and we're all still in touch regardless. I can get that for free

Re: Teri and other Hofstra Alum..
on that note, did anyone notice that we're listed under the announcement section in the last issue?! I didn't even call to put in my info! Someone in the Alumni dept read my info from newsday and called me to verify the info. At the time I was swamped at work and didn't pay it too much attn.
I got the Hofstra newsletter and then didn't even check for our wedding - one of my employees had to bring it to my attention! LOL

I gave them plenty money the first time around so they can ask all they want, but there ain't no more to give
