thank heaven I never watched Platinum weddings

before I had mine...I saw it for the first time tonight...I feel so lowly!

I could never afford half the things they do so I didnt bother trying to have them

See now i watch it and think half the time 'even if i had the $$$ i would never do that!'...i was happy with my rhodium silver plated wedding

I watch this and laugh half of the time..Its unbelievable what people spend...sickening actually..this just reminds us why the economy is so bad! lol All that matters to these people is money

Many of these are way over the top. But then again there are plenty of people that would think our weddings were way over the top. I guess when you have money to spend on something you want, you get it.

Spending all of that money though doesn't mean they had a better wedding... for example, they often make a big deal of saying how much they spent for hair and makeup (like thousands of dollars) and saying that this person was so special they had to fly her in from NYC or LA because she works on celebrities, and then you see the bride and she has barely any makeup on and a simple bun for her hair and you wonder why she needed to pay thousands for something any local salon could have done.

i used to LOVE that show.....now i cant stand any wedding shows anymore - its kind of weird - ive moved on to HGTV

i also think they exaggerate the prices on that show to make things seem more expensive than they really are.....

Yes, obsessed with House Hunters, Property Virgin and all those other kinds of shows. Don't watch any more wedding shows!

I watched one this weekend where they spent 100,000 on flowers. The flowers were gorgeous but spend 100,000 on flowers is sad to me. You could do so much good with 100,000 do you really need that many flowers?
