ok i committed the ultimate newlywed faux pas. our wedding was a little over 4 months ago and my thank you cards are still sitting here. they've been sitting here for 2 months and i've only written like 10. what with moving 3,000 miles from home, adjusting to this terrible east coast weather, attending what seems like 1,000 weddings .. i totally got behind.
now what do i do? hurry up and write them and get 'em out by the 5 month mark? or just forget them and try to sell 'em on ebay (they're generic cards, no picture).
advice??

Re: thank you card dilemma
Hate to tell you this, but I'd write them out and send them. I know it's a lot of work, but your guests deserve thank you's... JMO
I have been to weddings where I haven't received thank you's and those people ALWAYS stick in my mind and I've also been a guest at wedding where it took just about a year to get the thank you...

DEFINITELY write them..... No matter how long it takes, people deserve their 'thank you's'...jmo! I started mine and still have about 60 left, but if you do a few every night, you will get them done.
Good Luck!

Sorry, you have to write them. I dont think how long it takes matters as much as making sure your guests get heartfelt thank yous.

Re: thank you card dilemma
I have to agree with the group, you should definitely write them out and send them. Set yourself an hour a night to do them - this way you'll be done in a week or two hopefully!

Re: thank you card dilemma
I'm still doing mine and I just passed 6 months. I should be done in the next couple of days-at least I hope so. Anyone who knows you should understand. That's what I tell myself anyway.

Grin and bear it- and do them!
I must admit I was lax as well. I just ordered my TY's yesterday. I have been married 2 months. My goal is to get them out before Xmas.

Re: thank you card dilemma
Send them out asap. You can even write in the note 'sorry this has taken me so long but with the move I fell behind' or something like that. There is NO excuse for NOT sending TY cards IMO.
